[redacted] JUST SAY NO TO THE PET LODGE USA OF BOARDMAN [redacted] We had been customers for several years and noticed recently that there appeared to be too many pets in their care combined with insufficient and poorly trained staff We picked up our three dogs from a weekend stay this Monday Our year old Lab had a laceration on her front leg and it was very swollen Neither the attendant nor the owner knew anything about the injury or how it happened, but offered to “put some peroxide on it.” We took her immediately to our veterinarian to care for the injury and subsequent infection that occurred, not to mention a $bill I called Pet Lodge the same night and asked to speak immediately to one of the owners….they took a message No one called until 10:am the following day When I returned the call I was put on hold for minutes before I hung up Called back again and was told one of the owners, [redacted] was busy, (rudely) and to call back after 3:pm When I called back at 3:she was gone….left another message but never received a call back We entrusted them with the care of our three dogs and this was totally unacceptable Hiding from the problem will not make it go away Suggest you continue your search for quality pet care because you won’t find it here[redacted] M– Boardman, OH

Pet Lodge USA of Boardman is not what it seems! Before I brought my dog to stay at Pet Lodge I took a tour of the facility It seemed great I have a very high-anxiety rescue dog and he does not do well when he can see other animalsSo I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that "all" of the kennels had block walls so the dogs wouldn't have to be right next to himI will say that the first couple of times my dog stayed at Pet Lodge everything seemed fineI do agree with the other poster though that every time I took him it seemed more and more crammed with pets...After my dog's last stay he had very bad colitishis stool was basically bloodI called my vet and she said it could be due to extreme stressI later found out that Pet Lodge has a whole second room of kennels that they will not show you during the tour (there is a sign on the door that says employees only)they do NOT all have block walls and some of them are very small so the dogs are in traditional metal kennels right next to each other in a row I have also heard that dogs that can't be social with other dogs (like mine) do not get any play time if they can't just be let loose outside with other dogs I was so disappointed when I found all of this out (there is much more but it is second-hand info from a former employee)I will not be bringing my pet there again!

Neither the attendant nor the owner knew anything about the injury or how it happened, but offered to “put some peroxide on it.” We took her immediately to our veterinarian to care for the injury and subsequent infection that occurred, not to mention a $200 bill. I called Pet Lodge the same night and asked to speak immediately to one of the owners….they took a message. No one called until 10:00 am the following day. When I returned the call I was put on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. Called back again and was told one of the owners, [redacted] was busy, (rudely) and to call back after 3:00 pm. When I called back at 3:00 she was gone….left another message but never received a call back.
