Ace Cabinet Shop Reviews (6)

I am rejecting this response because:the cabinets and drawers all have finish that is wearing off and there is now bubbling on the finishIn addition there are new scratches that his shop did when he took all doors and drawers in March to respray themI sent [redacted] letters advising him of my dissatisfaction with his workThose letters were sent on March 7, 2017, April 7, and July 5, I have several photos but have attached one to show one of my complaintsThe issues of finish wearing off, white flecks in finish, bubbling and scratchesMy house has adults that live in it and the original work was done in May The finish on these cabinets should not be wearing off after less than a year The re work he tried to do has made it all worse I do not trust his work now and will not let him do any further repairs of my cabinetsThe cabinet contractors that reviewed his work have advised me that it would cost more to attempt to repair his poor workmanship therefore I am starting with all new cabinet doors , drawers and cabinet reface material

I am rejecting this response because: I have several pictures of all my complaintsI have provided some of those pictures if more is needed then I will provideThis finish should not have worn off in less than a year and even his re work is also starting to wear offThe comment that he feels the wearing off is related to nails and rings is totally absurdI do not wear rings and my adult son also does not wear rings I will accept full payment from him of $7,which is what he was paid personally on this jobI feel that I have adequately presented all the materials to justify my complaint and also the solution which is to have the entire job redone by a reputable and trustworthy contractorHe had chances to do an n adequate finish and reface on my kitchen cabinets and his workmanship fell below standard and I as a consumer have the right to request a full refund and to seek a more qualified contractor to re do this job

I finished a cabinet reface job in May 2016, I was paid a total of $7,I don't know what Bill was paidWhen I left the job in May she was very satisfied with the jobI heard from in March of 2017, she told me the finish was wearing off around the handlesI told her I would come back
to the job and take a lookWhen I observed the doors and drawers the finish had nicks and gouges around the handles onlyShe got very upset with me and I agreed to respray and fix the doorsFinished respraying the doors in April, except two doors that needed to go back to the shopI told her I would call her to pick up the doors when I got back on April 11thWhen I called her she refused my entry to complete the jobI was denied to go back to finish the worki am not able to control where and tear on cabinets, or abuseI was only trying to make my customer happyThat is not possible at this point, Sence I am not allowed back on the jobThere for I will not refund any money's for the jobi was informed by *** April 11th that she was having someone else do the workThere for my part is complete on this job

I finished the job in May I was paid a total of $*** said he was charging her more, I told him all I needed was $I don't know what he had going onAnd I paid taxes on the work that Ace Cabinet didWhich was $7300.00. The first I heard of any issues was in March I went to look at the job, and saw nicks and scratches around the handles of the cabinetsi told her at the time it was from rings and finger nails, and other areas were scratchedShe got very upset and I decided to respond just to make her happyI came in picked up doors and drawers, sanded, restained and resprayed themThen returned them on the 1st of April to redo the cabinets and rehang to doors and drawersUpon leaving the house she wanted two pantry doors redone because of scratchesWe attempted to redo them there, but could not do them on the job, because of orange peelingI told her at the time I was leaving on vacation and would call her April 11th to pick up the doorsI did call her on April 11thwhen I got back like I said I would, and she informed me that she was going to have someone else redo the doorsAt that point she refused me access to the job to fix any repairs she might haveShe locked me off the jobThe babbling one is talking about was the doors that had to be resprayedShe did not send me three letters she sent me 2, one on March 7th 2017, and one on July 5th The finish is not wearing off it is being scratched offI know of the contractors from *** ***All he said he never told her those things about the workmanshipAnd he said it looked more like scratchesBut again I went back to try and make her happy. At this point she wont allow me back to do the repairsShe says there is more repairs now but I am not allowed to even see what they areAgain I can not control wear and tear on cabinets. --

I am rejecting this response because:the cabinets and drawers all have finish that is wearing off and there is now bubbling on the finish. In addition there are new scratches that his shop did when he took all doors and drawers in March to respray them. I sent [redacted] 3 letters advising him of my dissatisfaction with his work. Those letters were sent on March 7, 2017, April 7, 2017 and July 5, 2017.  I have several photos but have attached one to show one of my complaints. The issues of finish wearing off, white flecks in finish, bubbling and scratches. My house has 2 adults that live in it and the original work was done in May 2016. The finish on these cabinets should not be wearing off after less than a year.  The re work he tried to do has made it all worse.  I do not trust his work now and will not let him do any further repairs of my cabinets. The cabinet contractors that reviewed his work have advised me that it would cost more to attempt to repair his poor workmanship therefore I am starting with all new cabinet doors , drawers and cabinet reface material.

I am attaching 2 estimates for new cabinet contractors. I will be going with the one for $7,100 from [redacted] and fixture which will be ordering all new doors and cabinet reface material. The other estimate for $8965 was to try to fix the poor workmanship of Ace. The original work with Ace Cabinet and [redacted]  was a verbal contract and I have copies of checks that were issued on 04/29/16 for $4500 , 05/26/16 for $2800 and 05/26/16 for $1350 for a total of $8,650.  Let me know if you need any other materials.[redacted]
