Hired company to remove and replace a folding attic ladder. They came out and said they need another person. The thought they just had to replace the ladder only because I had broken steps, which I didn't. Now their office is blaming me for the misunderstanding and I have to pay a $50 trip fee plus one hour of labor at $88. The gentleman was only here 15min and said he couldn't do the job. I don't know about these people. Their argument is that I received emails and signed the paper when the workman first arrived. They made the mistake now I am forced to $138 and he was only here for 15mins. He looked at the job and said he could not do it then left. I will never do business with this company again.

We regret there were apparently some areas of service that did not meet expectations. We appreciate the comments and will apply lessons learned into improving service to our valued customers. The customer contacted us to replace the ladder portion only of an attic ladder unit. We clarified the scope of work with the customer and issued a cost estimate in writing for customer approval to book the work. We clearly explained there was a service charge and one hour minimum for the work. Our process for work orders is to clarify the work scope with customers on site, explain our fee structure and provide the estimated cost and schedule. Before our craftsmen proceed with the work, customers must sign our work order which specifies hourly rate, service charge fee, man-hours and estimated costs. The customer signed the work order and agreed to the rates and contract terms. Our craftsman received customer approval to commence work and found the work scope was substantially different than provided in our written estimate. We advised the customer that one additional craftsman was required to safely perform the work. The customer and craftsman agreed we would depart the work site and prepare a revised estimate and reschedule the work. We spoke by telephone with the customer several times and he concluded our services for the revised scope of work were not required. We submitted our invoice in accordance with the contract terms. We have not received payment from the customer.
