Review: I dropped off a pair of suede gucci shoes to be cleaned and on one shoe needed to be re threaded. The threading is a completly differint color and it looks like two differint shoes now, also the cleaning of the suede was improper there is no suede left of the shoe. the value of this shoe is $600. I also dropped off a pair of Louis Vuitton leather shoes, on one shoe the leather needed to be replaced, he only stictched the leather back togather leaving lines of where the shoe was cut. The value of these shoes was $600. The owner of the store also started screaming at me and wanting to fight with me (in his own words he said he would "knock me out" and I am a female. when I told him I was unhappy with the service he became very violent.Desired Settlement: I would like the value of my shoes to be replaced which is a total of $1200.

Response:

First I would like to announce that I am not the owner or the man in the Complaint, I am his son, Charles Min. My father, [redacted], does not speak english very well, so I will respond on his behalf. I would prefer to speak over the phone, but here is a written response. Below is a brief and factual response after hearing my father's side of the dispute. [redacted] and her husband (Unnamed)walked into ACE Instant Shoe Repair some time ago during the month of May. She brought in two pairs of shoes. One black leather shoe and another in Suede. The black leather shoe had a scratches/knife-looking slices down the top front of the shoe. My father told the customer that he can not completely fix this shoe that the lines will still be visible. "Not beautiful" to be specific. That it is too damaged and will never look the same. She responded that it's fine and to continue. He asked for $38.00 USD for this specific repair job. For the other pair of shoes (suede), she asked my father to clean the suede shoes (twice). He originally told her she could do it herself by just buying the suede cleaner along his store's wall. She refused and my father said if Mrs/Ms. Mitchell wanted my father to do the service himself it was going to cost $45.00 USD to fix and she agreed. The total cost for both repairs was and still is $83.00 USD. My father asked for her to pay upfront and/or put down a deposit and she claimed she had no money on her. My father needed the business, so he trusted her without a deposit or payment. If Mrs/Ms. Mitchell decided to actually pay for a deposit or the full amount she would have proof of a receipt, which she does not. She then left her shoes there to not be seen for a long time. He told her they would be completed within three business days. She then came back three weeks to a month later asking the two pairs of shoes. Upon inspection of the shoe, she then claimed he butchered them and that the scratch marks were still there. Also, that the suede color is much different. He refused to give her shoes back unless she paid the agreed upon $83.00. What My father and I do not understand from this claim is that my father never re-threaded anything. My father used glue and a chisel to fix the leather shoe and just cleaned the suede shoe (twice). Also, if they are $600.00 USD pair of shoes each then why would you leave them without a receipt and not return for over three weeks to a month? For the concern of 'screaming'; My father naturally has a husky voice. In my entire family tree we sound like we're yelling when we are not. My father, like mentioned earlier, does not speak English well. He definitely does not know how to say, "knock you out" in English to ANYONE. I do not understand how he became 'violent' behind a counter? Who would not get aggravated in a situation where the customer is refusing to pay for labor? My father's store has been up and running for over a decade (18 years in this location). He has no problem providing pictures of the shoes. He would also like to file a complaint himself for [redacted] on owing him the verbally agreed upon $83.00 USD.
