Review: On July 8, 2015 I was taken to the emergency room by ambulance at [redacted] Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ. Upon discharge the hospital gave me a "Taxi List" to call since my car was still at the location where the accident happened. Since Ace Taxi was the location nearest my home I called them. I spoke with the dispatcher and was told it would take 1/2 hour. (It took longer). It is a seven (7) mile ride from the hospital to my home. When I got inside the driver did carry my bag to the door since I was on crutches with an aircast on my left leg. The driver followed me into my home. I asked him to go to the car and get the paperwork so that I could pay him. He said it was $40. I again asked him to get the paperwork and I got out my credit card. He said he would only take cash or else he doesn't get paid. I told him that I didn't 'have cash - I just came from the emergency room. He would not leave my home. I told him the best I could do was write him a check. I got only crutches and went further into my house to get my checkbook and he followed me. I gave him the check and a tip of $8 to get him out of my house. He left. I realized a few days later when I was more myself that I had't rec'd a receipt so I called Ace Taxi. I spoke with "[redacted] and asked for the receipt. I also asked him why I wasn't told when I called from the hospital requesting a car that they did not accept credit cards - I would have called another taxi. He said that they do take credit cards. I asked him how much the cost is for the ride and he said is was $35. I told him I wanted a refund of $13 (overcharge of $5+refund of $8 tip since the driver lying twice. I asked for a refund and he said he would have to think about it so I cancelled the check. When I called back and spoke with [redacted] he asked me not to, said they were reputable and would refund the $13 by check. I have not received the check. I called again tonight and asked for the owner. The dispatcher did not know the name of the ownerDesired Settlement: Refund of $13.00 and registration of my complaint against this business.
