I understand Mr*** being upset but after hearing about the complaint I personally inspected the building during a severe thunderstorm and it wasn't leaking, nor had there been any repairs done to the unit. The unit can be inspected by anyone you choose to verify it isn't leaking and that no repairs have been made after he made the complaint. Thanks *** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In response to Mrs. [redacted], since man made material is subject to imperfection, it is the responsibility of the owners to maintain their structures, which is NEGLIENCE on their part! To correct her, I DID sign the contract, not my mother. I have attached a copy of my contract. Also, I am the one who signed the checks to pay for the storage unit. They did not have any problem cashing my checks!Since we are on the issue of who signed what, I do not see her name on my contract. So why is she responding to this complaint? Her brother in law, [redacted], is the the one that signed my contract, but yet her phone numbers are on the contract...a seriously messed up situation. [redacted] was called by my mother at the time of renting to see if there was a unit available at that time. He was expressly told that the unit would be for all of MY belongings, not those of my mother. I can not help it if he put the wrong name on the contract. Again, this is a messed up situation. Although he wrote the wrong name on the contract, I continued to pay for it, since I was the one whose belongings were in there. To further inform Mrs [redacted], I do carry insurance on all of my belongings, but they should not have to pay for someone else's NEGLIENCE! Nor should I! Next, there was no subletting as she has implied. [redacted] completely knew that I was the one renting the unit, I was the one paying for it and I was the one whose belongings were in there. She then tries to persuade or convince someone that I have no legal grounds regarding this matter. Is she a lawyer? Is she the Management or is [redacted]? Why did she not sign the contract? Why did she, [redacted] or someone not try to correct the problem if she thought I was subletting? I was the one paying, signing and sending MY checks to them. Sounds like someone is trying to "pass the buck" here. Lastly, she states that "customer satisfaction is of our utmost importance". If so, then satisfy this customer! To help her do so, I will give her an alternate solution since she does not want to compensate me the $1500 for the water damage to my furniture. I will settle for ACE Mini Storage, Inc. , whomever they are, to repay me the full amount that I paid them to rent their leaking unit. That would be 8 months at $80 a month for a total of $640.
Regards,

First, I get a response from Mrs. ([redacted]) [redacted]. Now, I get a response from Mr. ([redacted]) [redacted]. As previously stated, my contract was signed by Mr. ([redacted]) [redacted]. So exactly who is/who are the owners of Ace Mini Storage, Inc.? Is it [redacted]? Is it [redacted]? Or now, is it [redacted]? What kind of games are they playing here? I would NOT have made any complaints if my furniture had NOT sustained water damage while in their storage unit. How do I know that they have not fixed the leak, as they have had time to check and repair it? Did Mr. ([redacted]) [redacted] ever think that water drains off roofs very quickly during violent thunderstorms? Has he ever considered that this might be a small, slow leak from an all day or slower amount of rain type day? Or are they simply avoiding the issue and NOT supplying their customer with any satisfaction? I have offered them with different options. If they truly do NOT want to admit that their storage unit caused my furniture to sustain water damage and pay the $1500 as I requested, I have offered them a second option of refunding my money for the time that I used their storage unit of $640. All that I have been requesting is for them to do the "RIGHT THING". They KNOW what the right thing to do is, they just don't want to do it! I am certain that if I were to ask my insurance company to pay for the water damages, they would say that NEGLIGENT maintenance of the roof would be an exclusion from coverage. In closing, again, I do NOT think that my insurance, nor should I, have to pay for someone else's NEGLIENCE!!!!!!!

First of all, as we all know, man made material is subject to imperfection.  We had no prior knowledge of any such water leak until the complainant had notified us upon exiting the unit.  The complainant as mentioned did not sign a contract with Ace Mini-Storage for this...

particular unit.   His mother, [redacted], did.  Furthermore, as signed in the contract on unit **, it was agreed upon that the customer would carry insurance on the personal property contained within the storage unit.  (See attached signed contract.)  As stated in the contract, "It is expressly understood that lessor carries no insurance covering lessee's goods and assumes no liability for the same.  Please insure goods!!!"  Also, it is stated in the contract that "Subletting is prohibited without a new lease being signed."  The name on this unit is [redacted], not the one who is filing this complaint.  Tenant must let management know of any changes in address or phone numbers etc."  We are working to correct the problem, and this tenant has no legal grounds regarding the matter.  We insure that future customers of this unit will receive a dry unit unless we are notified otherwise.  Thank you for following up on this matter as customer satisfaction is of our utmost importance.  Thank you,   [redacted],  Ace Mini-Storage Management
