Ace Towing Service, Inc.

The first time my Moms car was towed from my apartment complex was last month in November. We had gotten into an accident with my car which was no longer drivable waiting to hear back from the insurance. In the mean time my Mom let me use her car so I could get to work due to the fact she was on vacation in Seattle. I had a valid pass in the car. We left to pick up my step-daughter and I forgot to put the pass back on the dashboard. It was down by the gear shift and still visible. They took the car anyway. Due to the fact my Mother was not on the island I had to call her and let her know what was going on. She had to send a notarized letter giving them permission to release the car to me. They overcharged us for using the dolly claiming it was company policy. My other half is in the towing business as well and knows the procedures. Due to the fact that the car was reversed into the stall and the emergency brake was not on they did not have to use a dolly. They are just being aes and overcharging everyone. Today Dec. 27th. I wake up to my other half yelling their towing the car. We get downstairs and my other half is telling the driver I'm coming. As I was in a rush to get downstairs I didn't think to grab the keys. The driver told the person he was training to finish hooking the car up as he refused to take the L bars off. He was very hostile towards us. My other half told him they didn't completely have the car hooked up. Again he is also in the towing business and knows the procedures. The driver got completely hostile towards him. I was telling him its state law that he needs to drop the car. He told me no. He thinks he is above the law. After calling Ace Towing they claim they have to wait until the driver gets back with the car so they can watch the video because the driver claims he had the L bars hooked up and tires strapped before we even got to the car. That is completely false. The trainee was trying to hook up the L bars which he was having a hard time with. The tires were never strapped. Of course its going to be their drivers word over ours so they can keep the money. 355.00 to be exact with the overcharge of using a dolly which they did not. He also threatened to call my management company to have them give me a citation because I was standing in front of his truck telling him over and over again its state law that he drops the car. Which he refused multiple times telling me they have a no wait policy. He has a really bad attitude and everyone here knows it. On a separate occasion involving my neighbor he actually called out my neighbors son in law and told him to meet him at his house on Wahiawa so they could fight. What kind of business are they running? They are full of crap and a rip off.
