Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:The only part of Ace Unlimited's response that is accurate is that my *** heater is working But it was working before the Ace Unlimited tech arrived That's not the issue The *** heater's manufacturer--after walking me through some basic diagnostics--determined that either (i) the blower motor was worn out and needed to be replaced, or (ii) our exhaust piping needed adjustment The blower is under warranty, but the piping was not My next step in the warranty process was to test the blower by conducting a manometer test Since I don't have a manometer, I needed to call a technician--the manufacturer recommended Ace Unlimited That's the ONLY reason I called Ace Unlimited It was a step in the warranty process Nothing more.I'd be happy to request a transcript of the call with the manufacturer if that's helpful although I'm not certain if they'd furnish it.It's clear that Ace Unlimited denies all responsibility for leaving the exhaust piping disconnected While it's true that I disconnected it (as directed by the manufacturer), I turned the *** heater off and unplugged the cord Again, the manufacturer recommended that I do this so the *** heater wouldn't accidentally turn on and emit toxic fumes into my basement In fact, it was the Ace Unlimited technician who plugged it back in and turned it on The on/off switch is about six inches from the exhaust piping--it would have been obvious that the 5-inch pipe was disconnected And even if the technician was oblivious enough to miss a large, disconnected pipe in unobstructed view right in front of his face, wouldn't the first step in a diagnostic test (which I didn't ask for, but which Ace Unlimited claims to have completed) be to inspect the *** heater visually? Perhaps Ace Unlimited should provide better training for their technicians as they have "proven to be dangerous."Because the technician failed to follow my request AND because the technician plugged in the unit and turned it on without reconnecting the piping thus exposing my family to dangerously toxic fumes, I am requesting a FULL refund.Below are three more rebuttals to claims in Ace Unlimited's weak response:-Ace Unlimited claims that I did not request "additional tests." In fact, I only requested a single test--a manometer test--which Ace Unlimited failed to run.-Ace Unlimited claims that they "charge a set price to all our customers, which is dictated ahead of time." Not true Ace Unlimited told me it would be $to come out; additional labor and parts would be charged separately I was fine with that arrangement, but it's definitely NOT "dictated ahead of time." Furthermore, when my wife requested an itemized breakdown of the $charge, the technician mumbled something to the effect of "I don't know; I just call the boss and he tells me what to charge."-Ace Unlimited claims that "no parts were needed." I don't know the answer to that question precisely because Ace Unlimited didn't run the test I requested.Frankly, I'm shocked at how instantaneously Ace Unlimited became defensive and jumped to the conclusion that absolved them of ANY responsibility A consumer-focused organization--like Ace Unlimited--should be concerned about a potentially life-threatening situation caused by one of its technicians Instead (and unfortunately), it appears as though Ace Unlimited is more interested in saving $
Sincerely,

if the [redacted] heater was working   , then why did he call tech support , and why did he call us , kinda sounds like he  just cant afford it . I'm not interested in working for free  , in the interest of always trying to do the right thing , I will go there and run this unessessary  test .  otherwise I'm done having any correspondence with this customer .

based on the nature of failure ,  we  properly diagnosed , and repaired his [redacted] heater , we charge  a set price to all our  customers , which is dictated ahead of time . we were not told to run additional tests by him , and if he had  requested , he would have been...

told we  will run the nessessary  test required to repair his [redacted] heater . as is no parts were needed , and his [redacted] heater is working fine . in the future he should not try to work on his own [redacted] heater, as he has proven to be dangerous  , by leaving the exauhst disconnected .respectfully ace ps I really don't understand his point at all its fixed , it has a warrenty , we went there to do that and and that is exactly what we did .
