Review: On May *, 2014 we hired [redacted] - [redacted] of Ace Wood Turning and Furniture Works to restore our Mahogany Door to its original wood and finish. We paid him his full asking price without negotiation. He had also promised to deliver in a couple of days, oil and a touch up stick for maintenance. Having not heard from him in a few days I called him 3 times and left messages to remind him , as well as we wanted to speak with him regarding our disappointment in the finish of the door. He finally returned the call and said he would drop by with the above, he never showed up. I then tried calling him several times and left a number of messages for him. He never returned the call. My husband finally reached him, calling from another line and discussed with him not only his bad business etiquette for not returning the calls or bringing the above , but our main issue the disappointment in our door. He repeatedly laughed at and mocked my husband . He was given a beautiful mahogany door to refinish and he destroyed it by painting over it , where the grain of the wood does not show at all. We paid $2500 in good faith and based on a clear understanding that our door would be restored, not destroyed. We told him we wanted it redone and after much discussion he agreed to come look at it . He was supposed to come July *,2014 at 9AM, but never showed up or called. We would like him to redo the door the way we discussed and what we paid for or refund the money. He suggested that we will have to pay again to have it redone , which we feel he did not do the job correctly the first time and want it done the correct away.Desired Settlement: $2500 or proper restoration of the door!
