Aces Tree Service, Inc Reviews (5)

I called five tree companies to respond to a medium sized tree which had fallen onto my car. Aces was the first to respond. They learned that it was an insurance job so proceeded to charge $2100 to remove the tree. This was criminal and the insurance company should investigate. This job was at most a $1000 job. The company gouged the insurance company.

I am not happy with the service we had to deal with involving this company. We were taking estimates and they were determined to beat our best estimate because they needed the work. Later they realized that the job was bigger than they could handle. It was fight after fight with the owner to get the work done. They kept wanting more money saying they under bid the job, they couldn't afford to rent the equipment, their truck was broken down, and their rent was 13 days past due. They finally "finished" the job, leaving a large pile of logs just thrown on the side of our yard and worst of all huge holes in my yard as they refused to fill them in and clean up the debris and mulch from the stump grinding.... we are STILL trying to clean up the mess left behind.

Review: I contracted Ace's Tree Service on 10/10/2012 to complete tree and stump removal services (total cost $2600). On 10/11/2012 they removed all but one of the trees in the contract and stated they would return the following day to remove the stumps (cost adjusted for not removing one tree to $2300 and I paid in full as they requested). During the tree removal process on 10/11/2012 my neighbor's fence was damaged by Ace's Tree Services and I was told it would be repaired on 10/12/2012 along with the completion of the stump removal. The following day neither the fence repair or stump removal took place as promised and I was informed that both items would be resolved by the following week. Ace's again failed to remove the stumps as promised and never repaired the fence in the upcoming week as discussed. I ended up having to hire a contractor to repair the fence (cost $398). I received a call on 10/23/12 stating there had been mechanical issues with their equipment and the stumps would be ground on 10/26/12. On 11/14/12 I followed-up on the status of the job completion and to discuss reimbursement for the damaged fence. I was informed that due to a lack of funds they would be unable to pay for the fence repairs at that time, but the stumps would be removed the same afternoon. We agreed that I would send them the fence repair invoice and they would take care of the cost after they've completed a job and could afford to pay. They never completed the stump removal, nor ever reimbursed the fence repair costs. A letter outlining the ordeal was mailed to their office along with the contractor's invoice for the fence repairs on 11/20/12 with no reply.Desired Settlement: I would like the fence repair costs (total $398) to be remitted as agreed, and a refund for the incomplete portion of services that were paid for in full.

Response:

After speaking with [redacted] from the company on 9/10/13 she stated she had not heard from the customer in over a year. Customer can call the office to make arrangements for the stump removal and to discuss the $398.00 payment.
