I have used Achieva for about years and for the majority was very happy with their serviceOver the last year they have started acting more like bank of america than a credit union as they have merged with a conglomerate of credit unions I had a wire setup on Friday which they waited to process till 10:on Monday hours after they openedI thought this was strange but wasn't too worriedToday, on Tuesday, I login to my account and find overdraft fees that were transactions that took place over the weekendAchieva keeps a "Available Balance" and "Balance" I had no outstanding transactions and checked my account Monday morning and saw $in the accountI come to find out before processing the wire like a reputable business would they pushed through transactions for less than $and charged the wire fee of $to my account then processed the wire They charge $for each overdraft so all in all the charged me $in overdrafts when they could have processed the wire first and I would have been fine Now after talking to their representative, who wasn't rude but made no attempt to make this situation correct, I tried to change my account so it would not allow an overdraftI come to find out they still charge $per denied payment and since certain merchants will try to run a payment again this would cost me way moreTO DENY A PAYMENT COSTS AS MUCH AS AN OVERDRAFT! Do not use this credit union, at one point they were near perfect but merged with a conglomerate and now are on par with bank of america
Achieva's customer service is god awful. They will call you endlessly without leaving any messages or vague messages so you have no idea why they are contacting you. When you don't call back immediately, they send you nasty emails. I would not recommend this company to anybody.
I have used Achieva for about 10 years and for the majority was very happy with their service. Over the last year they have started acting more like bank of america than a credit union as they have merged with a conglomerate of credit unions.
I had a wire setup on Friday which they waited to process till 10:30 on Monday hours after they opened. I thought this was strange but wasn't too worried. Today, on Tuesday, I login to my account and find 3 overdraft fees that were transactions that took place over the weekend. Achieva keeps a "Available Balance" and "Balance" I had no outstanding transactions and checked my account Monday morning and saw $23 in the account. I come to find out before processing the wire like a reputable business would they pushed through 2 transactions for less than $2 and charged the wire fee of $10 to my account then processed the wire.
They charge $34 for each overdraft so all in all the charged me $102 in overdrafts when they could have processed the wire first and I would have been fine.
Now after talking to their representative, who wasn't rude but made no attempt to make this situation correct, I tried to change my account so it would not allow an overdraft. I come to find out they still charge $34 per denied payment and since certain merchants will try to run a payment again this would cost me way more. TO DENY A PAYMENT COSTS AS MUCH AS AN OVERDRAFT!
Do not use this credit union, at one point they were near perfect but merged with a conglomerate and now are on par with bank of america
