Achievement Associates Learning Centers Reviews (1)

Review: I began seeing counselor [redacted] at Achievement Associates. I am unemployed and chose AA because my insurance, HIRSP, stated that AA is "in network."

I made it clear at the start that I'm unemployed and that insurance would cover any and all owedpayments.

I found out after eight sessions that AA has repeatedly attempted to charge me the full amount of the session minus the "in network write off."

Once I found out after six weeks of sessions I notified my counselor, [redacted], who agreed the price was too high and spoke to the sole owner of AA , [redacted]. I repeatedly offered to speak to Miss [redacted] and negotiate a fair price Based on a sliding scale due to my unemployment. While Miss [redacted] told her employee, [redacted], she would speak to me, Miss [redacted] repeatedly refused my calls when I would call. I notified [redacted] of Miss [redacted]'s refusal to speak to me directly. [redacted] agreed with me that those behaviors were unprofessional.

Complicating the matter is the receptionist who identifies in the workplace as "[redacted]." I spoke to my counselor about [redacted]'s unprofessional behavior in the workplace toward me. O er the weeks I'd been seeing [redacted]. [redacted] told me that had prior complaints about [redacted] and another receptionist, [redacted], and that [redacted] would speak to Miss [redacted] about that as well.

When I called on July 31 to once again speak to Miss [redacted] based my counselor's recommendations that Miss [redacted] would now speak to me regarding my bill, I was immediately rebuffed by [redacted]. She proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to speak to Miss [redacted] and instead, [redacted] raised her voice to me. She yelled at me for not having paid my bill and that my August 1 appointment would be cancelled and I would not be allowed to see my counselor.

When I told her to lower her voice and stop being so rude to me, she continued to talk over me, telling me I was the one who was rude and to "calm down." NOTE: I was very calm the entire time and frankly could not get a word in edgewise given [redacted]'s raising her voice and talking over me when ever I attempted to speak.

[redacted] refused to let me speak at all and hung up the phone on me.

T still have not received a call to date from anyone at AA except AA's third party billing firm, Mesa Billing, located in Brookfield, Wis. Approximately two weeks ago, I received a call from a woman at MB, who identifies in the workplace as "[redacted]" and explained what had happened. She was quite shocked at the behaviors I was repeatedly subjected to in the workplace by the various AA employees in question.

I am still waiting for "[redacted]" to contact me so that I can request a full investigation into the matter.

There has been no contact or follow up by any one at AA or MB since except to send me bills which total 869.46.Desired Settlement: I was asked by my attorney to see a counselor and AA was highly recommended. I am going through a divorce and suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (per [redacted].

Let me state that [redacted] has done an excellent job throughout this situation for me. It's just the unprofessional behaviors and business practices of the receptionist, [redacted], and owner, Miss [redacted], which they choose to demonstrate in the workplace that I am writing about.

These behaviors have caused me a great deal of emotional and financial distress, especially as I have tried repeatedly to talk with and negotiate with the aforementioned employees in a respectful and professional manner and have been treated in a manner other than what is appropriate and profe3ssional in the workplace.

Therefore, I am requesting that the entire $869.46 owed be vacated from my account given the grossly unprofessional behaviors I have been repeatedly subjected to in the AA workplace .

In addition, I am also recommending that the employees in question undergo Respect Training in general and Gender Sensitivity Training specifically in regard to males.

I welcome a full investigation into this matter.

Thank you.

Respectfully submitted,

[redacted].
