Review: I had a new roof installed in 2012 by Ackworth Construction. Two years later my roof was leaking from a boot that they installed. When I called Ackworth Construction in November of 2014, he informed me that was out of business and could not even come out to evaluate the problem, despite the warranty on the work that we had purchased at the time the roof was installed. No one else had been up on our roof since the installation. I then called another roofer [redacted] ) and they sealed the boot. [redacted] also informed me that part of the problem was a ridge vent, which appeared to have been stepped on and broken. I had noticed the abnormality in the ridge vent when Ackworth Construction initially put the roof on. When I asked the owner about it he told me that the area was where the two ridge vents come together, and that it was normal. [redacted] quoted me for [redacted] dollars to fix the broken ridge vent. I had to fix a significant amount of drywall damage inside my home as a result of the slow leak in the ridge vent and the leaking boot. The roof has not been touched since this winter (2014-2015). We have seen Mr. Ackworth's Truck outside of his business in [redacted], which still appears to be fully operational. When calling his phone number, he still answers his phone "Ackworth Construction", despite being allegedly closed for months.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for cost of replacement of broken ridge vent, which was damaged at the time of the installation of our roof and resulted in significant drywall damage and mold growth.
