We are required to reference the AHA guidelines due to the AHA being the entity that has been commissioned by ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) to distribute these guidelines in the United StatesILCOR is the International committee responsible for coordination of all aspects of cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation worldwideThe AHA does not certify or approve any class or course that is not taught by them, that includes our company, the Red Cross, the ECCThey are not a governing body and do not have the right to certify or approve Our company is providing the same type of Pre-Hospital education as the American Heart Association, in essence, we are competitionThey will never approve of our course
It also states in our terms and conditions for every prospective student that:
All purchases are final and no refund will be given for any reason, including FAILURE OF ANY ORGANIZATION OR INSTITUTION TO ACCEPT LICENSOR’S CERTIFICATION CARD.
Unfortunately the services have been rendered and the Ms*** has a valid certificationWe do apologize that her employer does not accept itMs*** called in to our support and was offered a skills evaluation, just in case her employer need that, but she refusedAs stated on the website it is the student’s responsibility to verify if her employer will accept it before completing the courseMs*** was negligent in her responsibility and because of that no refund will be issued at this time

I did not find:  Including failure of any organization or institution to accept licensor's certification card, maybe it was not in a spot that a normal customer would go to see online.  If I did see this, I would have questioned why any institution would not accept this?  Also it was not just one hospital that would not accept this certification, but numerous. American Heart Association(AHA) is not in "competition" with this group, they do not honor it and they stated they would never have honored an online certification.  Had I know that every hospital that I know, and my acquaintances know in the healthcare field, Doctors and Nurses, would not accept this card I would have NEVER taken this class online! There is no one I know that has ever taken an ACLS or BLS course that was not AHA.  I did find that all purchases were final.  I guess you could sneak this card in and hope that someone in charge wouldn't take a close look at it to see it did not have the American Heart Association logo on the top right hand corner, but instead a logo that looked very similar that read ACLS Training Association.  If I brought a coat back that was unused back to a business, I'm sure they would give me a full refund.  We are in the healthcare industry, we deal with human beings and their lives.  We are expected to be and are, honest, caring and to act with integrity!  I guess you are fighting not to refund my $480.00 for a product that I need to throw in the trash and start over with a reputable company.  If you just gave me my money back at this point, you would be losing face.  I did not attempt or would I to pass this card off, I DID see on many job postings which I stated earlier ie.. (AHA) BLS, ACLS.  I can sleep good @ night, can you?

This letter is in response to the Complaint that the ACLS Training Association received from [redacted].
In June of 2015 Career Step LLC acquired the ACLS Training Association and have assumed all daily operations of the company. We are being diligent in making sure that there are no...

customers that feel that they did not get the type of service that we pride ourselves on. That being said, we are making sure that we respond to any and all communications that have been sent in regards to the ACLS Training Association.
In January Ms. [redacted] purchased two certification courses from our company. She took one of the courses and quickly passed the final exam. Upon submitting her results to her employer she was notified that it was not accepted. She notified us, at which time, we explained to her that the course has been taken and we would not be able to issue a refund. As per our policy stated on the website.
All purchases are final and no refund will be given for any reason, including FAILURE OF ANY ORGANIZATION OR INSTITUTION TO ACCEPT LICENSOR’S CERTIFICATION CARD.
When Ms. [redacted] purchased her course she agreed to these terms. She called in after her course was rejected by her employer and spoke with our staff who explained this to her. She was not satisfied with this explanation and persisted until she spoke with a manager. The manager deemed it necessary to grant her a refund based on her unique circumstance.
Ms. [redacted] has been given a full refund and we consider this matter closed. No further communication has taken place with Ms. [redacted] concerning this matter since the time that the full refund was granted.
