I had Acme Auto Repairs install brakes, rotors, front pads and rear brake drums provided by me.The mechanic failed to do a professional job.Repair order was dated 12/XX XXXX: repair order #XXXXXX to repair [redacted] Van 2000. The cost was [redacted] While driving home that day I felt the brakes vibrate/pulsate every time I applied the brakes. I was thinking that maybe it had something to do with the brakes shoes adjusting itself, being that everything was new. The problem was getting worst, so I notified the owner [redacted], and he suggested that I bring in my van to the repair shop, so his mechanic can look at it again. The mechanic showed me the front brakes and then the rear brakes. He told me the rear brakes needed some adjustments. When I left the repair shop, the samevibrating/pulsating noise could be heard when I applied the brakes. That's when I decided to go to [redacted] & [redacted] at [redacted] in [redacted] have them check vibration with the brakes. There invoice #XXXXXX, dated [redacted] 2015, states that left rear brake shoes were backwards and drum overheated; reinstall shoes and machined clean drum. Cost was [redacted] Problem fixed. It was late in the day to call Acme Auto Repairs to inform them that [redacted] & [redacted] found the root cause of the vibrations with the brakes, so I went back to Acme Repair shop that Saturday morning [redacted] 2015. I addressed the issues with an employee of Mr. [redacted] and he brought it to the attention of the mechanic who worked on the brakes. This mechanic immediately defended his credentials as a mechanic and said that the other auto repair shop was making it up about the brake shoes being backwards. I spoke with [redacted] to resolve this issue of what it cost me additionally, and he too believe that the other repair shop was making it up about the brakes shoes being backwards.Desired SettlementI am requesting the extra cost of paying [redacted]plus any damages to brake shoes & drum. I ordered the brake shoes & drums from [redacted] online [redacted] 2014. Brake shoe set was [redacted] part [redacted] and drum set was [redacted] part [redacted]Business Response [redacted] came to my repair shop. He had purchased all the parts from some other location. We were paid to change the parts he had brought in. which was done correctly because he never returned or called us. Costumer comes back to us close to three months later to complain about brake pads. There is no way his brake pads would have lasted almost three months if they had been applied backwards.Consumer Response I am not satisfied with the company's response. I feel that it was their responsibility to perform the proper installation of installing the front and rear brakes. The company did not deter from installing the new brakes and parts that I gave for them to install. Nonetheless, I feel that this company has no regards for customer's safety, or the fact that I probably could have been involved in a serious accident or death. The brakes were not installed properly, and the unprofessional work performed was brought to the attention of the owner. I brought my [redacted] van to [redacted] & [redacted] where they corrected the problem for the brakes to work property.Enclosed with this letter, is an invoice copy of [redacted] & [redacted] in [redacted] If you have any further questions or concerns, please call me at [redacted]Your concern into this matter will be appreciated.Final Business Response Acme Auto, Inc.67 Wilbraham RoadSpringfield, MA 01109[redacted] 2015[redacted] XXXXX[redacted]Re:Case #: XXXXXX[redacted]Dear [redacted]I am responding to your correspondences dated [redacted] and [redacted] 2015, regarding the above-referenced consumer and case number. On [redacted] 2015, I responded to your first letter by way of your online Complaint System, as recommended in your letter.
