Acme Excavating and Sewer Boring

Review: I was contacted by [redacted] the owner on Monday, Nov.4 to tell me that they would be out on Thurday, Nov. 7 to hook me up to the sewer. (I had been told in Sept., that it was unlikely that they would get to me, so I should get an extension, which I did). I asked what time they would be coming as I have two dogs that I need to make provisions for. [redacted] said he would call Wednesday night to tell me the time. The call never came, so I didn't think they would come as we had rain wind predicted for Thursday. They arrived about 7:30 AM. I was still in bed and was surprised to see them there. I said I needed to get my dogs out and get dressed and I would get them the key for the gate, which I did. I then got a phone call from [redacted] saying "How dare I yell at his men and if I didn't like them there he would come and tear up the contract and didn't need all this hassle!!! He was beligerent, intimidating and I don't believe any business should treat a customer that way. My whole yard has large ruts and torn trees and grass that is appauling. I had a sod man come today to look at what needs to be done and he said that he has never seen a job left so horribly. I was told that they couldn't cut the sod because of tree roots and how wet it was. Why did they continue and not wait until our .6 inch of rain for the day and dried some. I was told that he can't stop a job because of rain, but the results of what happened would not have been so severe in other circumstances. The attitude and intimidation from him was horrible. He knew I was not satisfied and never even tried to make things better. I was lied to and treated like dirt and I want other seniors to be warned. This company came to do my sewer hook-up. I was led to believe that they would fix and replace sod, etc. upon completion of job. I was left with a mess!! They would not put sod (about 300 square feet) in my front yard and said that seed would be fine. As this job was just completed yesterday, I don't believe that the sod will take.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the back yard fixed and have the sod done right. I would like reimbursement for the $275 I am paying the sod company to come out to fix the front yard and an apolgy for the way I was treated!
