I am rejecting this response because: From the very beginning of his work, we agreed that if any add'l repair costs were needed, due to rotted wood under the house siding, that I would cover itI asked him to show me receipts which he never didRather than wait 'till the job was completed to pay him, I paid him $per week for him and a couple of workers' labor costsI have made countless # of calls to get him and/or his helpers over here to finish the job and have had nothing but no-shows and no return calls to explain why they did not show up.Over months have lapsed since the 2-week project was begun I had to pay $to an Electrician to fix the electrical work that Acme did on the front of the houseAcme owner said that the wiring was messed up before he got to it, but after he got to it there was electricity in the house gutter system, which had never occurred before that. *** ***

Review: Owner of Acme Handyman Svc, [redacted], was paid $1000 over his $5470 quote, with unmet promises to finish the job...week after week, month after month. The contract was signed on 10-22-15 and 1/4th of the house is still unpainted and several areas requiring carpentry work are unfinished. He 'no shows ' and 'no calls ' date after date of stated arrival to finish up the contracted work. There is probably 6-7 hours of work left on this job. This was supposed to be a 2-3 week project, and 6months later it is still unfinished.

He now states that he can do the work on weekends, since he is now working full time for a Contractor Mon-Fri. But, again, he still'no shows' & 'no calls.' He has violated the contract, has been paid all but $125 to do the work & it remains undone. I even had to hire an Electrician to fix some of his poor re-wiring...and it cost me an additional $325 out of pocket to have the wiring fixed. He keeps my house paint with him all the time, which has already been paid for.Desired Settlement: Complete the job either by himself or hire worker(s) to finish the job by May 29, 2016.

Response:

Mr.[redacted] was accurate in his complaint, however he failed to mention a few things. The contract he signed he made ammendments to in ink without consulting me. His complaint about the house not being finished is true however, there was additional work done to the house as we were installing new siding. Any unforseen repairs were to be negotiated by both parties and agreed upon. Mr. [redacted] did not pay what the repairs were worth based on the going rates for this type of repairs in my area. I feel Mr.[redacted] received more than his moneys worth for the job. Without paying a fair price for the repairs already done I cannot afford to keep working on his home as any more work will come directly out of my pocket. I am very sorry it came to this however I cannot complete projects without being compensated fairly. Mr.[redacted] received approximately 80 hours of unpaid labor, and close to $300 in material not reimbursed for. Again this is a disheartening outcome, but in fairness I beleive I've done all I can do.
