Boston Revdex.com-Please be advised I reject the response from Travers Plumbing and heating as follows: In response to Mr*** complaint the technician did repair the shower drain on 12/24/It was explained to the customer that the repair would be completed in the most efficient and cost effective ?way.??RESPONSE: I do not recall being provided any options or choices for the repair and the "repair was not completed." If you had a serious wound and you are offered a bandaid or stitches, you would naturally accept the stitches as the best solution to the problem of an open wound. The area below the leak is an enclosed ceiling (fortunately the ceiling was not yet repaired) and if I was told of the options, I would have accepted the new drain replacement.?It appeared that after some time and useage that the drain may have come loose. ?RESPONSE:? We are talking about four weeks from the repair to the second leak Am I to have a call back every four weeks and leave the ceiling open?Upon return to repair the technician cut out the drain and replaced with new at that timeTravers Plumbing did offer the customer a discount after it was explained to him however he was clearly unsatisfied with that.? RESPONSE: The discount which was offered to me was 15% off the next service call. Why would I call a company that I am dissatisfied with their work?? Thank you - ***Regards,

The response by Travers Plumbing reference this issue is consistent with the service we received from them--disappointing After speaking with three other plumbing companies we were told this should have been a very routine type call and fixed on the first visit--especially given that we told both technicians exactly what the symptoms were We will most assuredly not make the mistake of using them again, and will ensure others are familiar with our very disappointing experience

Travers Plumbing & Heating Inchas provided the consumer with fair and honest business as noted in the above rebuttalTravers also made a good faith offer with the discount certificate sent to them but unfortunately we were unable to satisfy that customerTravers Plumbing & Heating Inc

In response to the rebuttal by the consumer the technician DID review with the homeowner the steps that would be taken at the first initial repair in attempt to correct the problemIn fact the technician also reported that the customer stood by and watched over the complete repair and never asked at that time to cut the drain completely out otherwise that would have been doneAgain we would take the most efficient and cost effective method for the consumer to fix the problemTravers Plumbing did explain this to the customer however he apparently is not willing to accept that Thank you Travers Plumbing & Heating Inc

In response to [redacted]'s complaint the course of events are as follows. On 2/24/15 Travers Plumbing received a call requesting a service call from [redacted] for [redacted] for an issue with the hot water not staying hot. The call was scheduled by the office for Friday the 27th...

of February for a 12-4pm arrival time. The technician did make the service call on that Friday the 27th and upon testing the hot water to the  shower and running the water on hot until it cooling he then tested the faucet and had the same water temperature from that fixture which indicated to him at that time that it appeared to be the water heater. The technician then called the office for the price of a replacement gas water heater which is $1,100.00 which includes ALL components of a new water heater. The homeowner did call to schedule the installation of the water heater for Wednesday April 1st. It is correct that due to an emergency that appointment did get rescheduled for Friday April 3rd. Between the scheduled appointments Mrs. [redacted] did call the office to request that for the second visit we send a different technician . Travers Plumbing did send another technician per the homeowners request to the home. That second technician also tested the water but it seemed at that visit to be contained to the  shower only. He did install the TA 10, TA 4 and rebuilt the shower valve HOWEVER he did agree and informed the homeowner as well that if the water temperature issue does reoccur than they would be looking at replacing the water heater. It should be noted that there are situations on repairing shower valves in some cases it does require access through the back wall HOWEVER this case did not. We would also like to note that the customers have used Travers Plumbing in the past at a different address on March 3 2010 invoice # [redacted]. It should also be noted that there may be many factors that could cause water temperature issues such as water heater, mixing valve etc. As you will know know Travers did do right by the customer and did not just sell them an $1100.00 water heater. If Travers wasnt doing right by the customer than we would have sold the water heater. Travers Plumbing was also never informed that Mr. [redacted] was not home. After the homeowner provided payment for services they did call to complain as they were looking for reimbursement. As the office discussed the customers concerns and complaints with the owner of Travers Plumbing he then offered them a certificate for a discount on a septic pump out as we provide that service as well. The office called the customer to advise of the decision and let them know that we were sending a certificate. On 4-28-15 Mrs. [redacted] came in to hand deliver the envelope and certificate to the owner of Travers Plumbing. As he was out of the office the secretary addressed her concerns and complaints. Mrs. [redacted] informed the office that she did NOT want to accept the certificate and wouldnt be using Travers in the future.  Thank you, Travers Plumbing & Heating Inc.

Regardless of the method chosen for the repair, inadequate service as the repair had the leak re-occur in four weeks.  Let's address the issue of the repair lasting four weeks. Was this efficient?Was I told the most efficient repair would be good for four weeks?  What about the claim for the discount offer?  Again, I do not recall the choice of drain replacement vs the putty fix.   Do not recall technician offering the putty fix at $164.00 vs drain replacement is $249.19.
