Buyer beware! They will leave you holding the bill on a terrible car.
1: it has taken well over 2 months now and still yet to receive the plates.
but more worryingly
2: The sold me a car that didn't have a catalytic converter installed. I only found out when I went to get an exhaust leak fixed.
When I called them about it I got the run around for 2 days before I was insistent enough to have somebody at least give me an answer.
They sold me a car that would not pass emissions and then basically said because the car didn't need an emissions THIS year they were fully within their legal rights to do so as I bought the car "As is".
Though I appreciate the offer of free labor and at cost parts that means I'd still have to pay for something that should have come on the car to begin with when the car NEVER should have been sold in that condition.
Don't trust them. They'll run you around, give you a half baked answer and only when you insist and some poor salesman has to deliver the news because their upper management is too cowardly to do it themselves. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.

For me, Action Auto is one of the best dealerships for used cars. They have friendly staff and were very informative whenever I asked questions about the car I was planning to buy. This dealership gives a wide variety of choices of cars. The cars were amazing when it comes to looks. Stunning and fresh like it wasn't a used one. I highly recommend Action Auto to be on your list in finding a dealership if you want to buy a used car.

Bought a 2016 Crosstrek. Was shown the “Green Light Auto Report” that said the car passed in all categories including no sludge, good brakes and good air filters. We live 4 hours away, so an 8 hour round trip. This would be fine if if I had to make one trip for a good vehicle. I took the car in to Subaru. Subaru failed the brakes, air filter, and a bad oil leak. Subaru said it would be over 2000 dollars to fix. I called Action Auto to get it fixed. They said they would take care of it, but denied what Subaru had said was wrong over the phone. I take the car in to Action Auto to get it fixed. I wait in the lobby for 7 hours and was told they fixed it. Took it to a families house that is close and found out the car was still leaking oil, because they didn’t fix what Subaru said was wrong. They did replace the air filters and the front brakes, which should have been done before the car was even cleared for sale. So now I have to wait again for much longer to have the oil leak maybe repaired. This doesn’t include the time I have driven back and forth, and waited, which now totals over 40 hours. I would be fine with an exchange for a vehicle of the same value, a refund, or a compensation for all the time I have wasted on something that should have been done before the car was sold.

Action Auto Sales and Finance Response • Apr 15, 2020

This email is being written in response to the customer complaint sent in by *** to Action Auto Sales and Finance, LLC on 3/19/2020 via Revdex.com. I am also writing on behalf of Erik S, COO of Action Auto Sales and Finance, LLC.On February 29th, 2020, *** purchased a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek from us here at Action Auto. We do our best to ensure that each vehicle sold on our lot is in great condition, for this reason, we have a neutral, 3rd party inspection company inspect all of our vehicles. When *** returned with the issues after purchasing his vehicle, we sent the car to our mechanics who removed the engine, resealed all of the gaskets, replaced the air filter and the brakes. All of these issues were resolved, costing Action Auto Sales and Finance, LLC $1,400. In order to maintain healthy customer relations, we did not charge *** for the work that we did to the Crosstrek. This event has been resolved with both our business and our customer. We hope that this issue can be resolved with the Revdex.com as well and we are very appreciative of all of our customers and their business.Thank you in advance for your assistance regarding this matter.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I will not, however do business with them in the future and they lost a sale by me purchasing a second vehicle elsewhere. They even had a better price than the other place I purchased the second vehicle from, which was only a few miles away. It pays to have exceptional customer service, not just alright customer service.

Sincerely

This place is HORRIBLE. Definitely the most sketchy business I have ever worked with. Don't get me wrong, our sales experience was great. However, after driving the car off the lot, we discovered the seat belt light for the passenger seat was on even though no one was sitting there. This was not discovered during test drives and my husband and I were both in the car, therefore both seat belts were buckled. After calling to speak with Brady in the Orem location, who was NOT helpful we were finally able to get a hold of the owner, Jason. After way too many phone calls, and fights we convinced Jason to replace this part for only $400 (even though they sold us the car broken.) They told us to bring in our car at 9:00 in the morning, we ended up having to wait an hour because no one was there until 10:00. We left our car for the day, paid the $400 and when we got ready to leave found that the light was STILL ON. I went back in, spoke with Brady who called Jason and claimed we needed to take it to a Honda dealership and just have them do a computer reset to fix it. Honda informed us that not only did the reset not fix the problem but ACTION AUTO NEVER REPLACED THE PART. There is a specific strip of paint the manufacturer puts over the bolt when originally building the car and that was all still in tact. Save yourself a ton of trouble and go LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE.

Buying a car from action auto sales in the single biggest mistake of my life. If you are thinking about buying a car from them, take $20,000 and flush it down the toilet instead...it will save you time and heartache, but the end result will be the same. I bought a car from them in June 2019. The VERY NEXT DAY the check engine light came on. It ended up needing the air intake manifold replaced. Luckily it was under warranty...huge pain because we live 2 hours away from anything. One week later it started squeaking. $300 later, it was fixed...can't remember what that one was. But the big kicker is this...yesterday (four months after buying the car) my. Engine. Seized...45,000 miles on it. Not only is it the worst car ever, the car-buying experience at Auction Auto sales was also the worst experience ever. They were rude and completely unhelpful. Seriously, any positive review on Action Auto sales is more than likely fake. I don't usually leave a review, but hopefully I can prevent someone else from also making the biggest mistake of their life.

I bought a used 2015 Lexus GS350 F Sport sedan from this dealership. When I purchased the vehicle I had only test drove it in town and did not take it out on the freeway. Rick who was the salesman knew this car had an alignment problem, told me when he drove the car it shook but that it would be a simple fix by replacing the tires. Well I purchased new tires from the dealership for the car and it did not fix the problem. On top of that I paid out of pocket $110.75 to get the car alignment done which Rick lied to me and said he would cover and Venmo me the money that I have not received (I'm sure his intentions were good). This has been a complete nightmare trying to work with these guys who have only given me the runaround, worst car buying experience I have ever experienced in my life. I spent nearly $30,000 on this car all of while these crooks pocket the money and after the purchase have been unwilling to fix the problems that came with the car. Even after I paid to get the car aligned properly it has still been shaking past 55 MPH. I took it to a tire shop and the owner from California tire who inspected the rims said they were severely damaged. The dealership downplayed it and said they were only minor damaged. The Mechanic from Action auto gave his biased opinion and said the car is not shaking!!!! So here I am with an expensive car with damaged wheels that vibrates like crazy driving it down the road. I've hardly driven the car bc it shakes so bad I don't want to drive it and push it back out of alignment and pay even more money to fix it again. Jason the Owner offered $300 dollars to go towards customer rims, I told him to keep his money and that that was not what we agreed to do. They were looking into trying to repair the rims but research proved it doesn't fix the problem and is still hard to balance tires even after repairing them. I would have been happy if they would of replaced the rims with Lexus manufactured rims of what I thought the car was being purchased with. They had no clue and did not inform me of any of the damages done. PLEASE HELP!!!! I wish I could just return the car and get my money back after this horrible nightmare!

Best place in Utah to buy a car hands down! Used car salesman have always made me nervous but these guys were so up front and so honest and weren't looking to make a fast sale. They were very genuine and listened to what I was looking for and my concerns! I give this dealership a A+ no doubt and will definitely doing more business with them in the future! Thank you Action Auto Sales

We bought this vehicle on 10/13/2018 and the transmission went out two months later. We did buy the warranty for the vehicle. but this is not acceptable in any way. We paid $12k for the vehicle and I am sure that they had to have known that there were major issues. I am going to resolve this in some form, but want this issue to be registered with the Revdex.com. This is not acceptable. Please advise. Many
thanks

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are always striving to improve our processes here at the dealership however on this particular situation there is nothing that could have been done different to avoid any negative outcome. We had the car inspected by a 3rd party company prior to the sale of the vehicle. We clearly offered as you stated an opportunity to add coverage to the vehicle at time of purchase in which you decline with a signature on the waiver of service contract and signature on the as-is buyers guide. We would never wish this outcome on anyone however there is no way to predict something like this 2 months after the sale of the vehicle. We do understand that there is a possibility that something may happen down the road which is why we offer coverage if you so desire. We can only offer coverage we cannot force. We do not feel it is fair we our to blame based on a decision you made to buy the vehicle as-is as clearly stated in the as-is buyers guide. We appreciate you and your business and hope to one day get past any negative feelings.

Thank you, Jason B

We found a Toyota Sequoia listed for sale at the dealer. Being we lived 5 hours away we set up our own financing and came in with a trade as well.
When I went down to look at the Sequoia I had some questions, Can I get your Vehicle Inspection report? Why does this sound so loud? Buttons weren’t working. How does the four wheel drive work and know when it’s in? They then brought out a basic level mechanic who came to look and help. I ended up solving my own questions finally just reading the owners Manuel.
Being pregnant with Twins and having two small children I failed to look under the car trusting them when I very much shouldn’t.
They said it’s just loud due to the V8. I said okay since I didn’t know much about it.
Well during the shuffle they never gave me the Vehicle inspection report until three days after purchase when I brought to their attention because my husband could look under the car. The entire frame was rusted beyond repair. Bolts were CUT off the frame. The exhaust was broke in multiple places needless to say this vehicle was not safe to be sold.
Upon talking to the owner he swore he sent me home in a safe vehicle then the fourrunner I traded in. Which was not true. I didnt trade in a compromised vehicle sending home a woman pregnant with two children one disabled already.
We agreed Monday morning I’d take it to a shop to be looked at and go from there.
I took the car to the body shop and they deemed the frame compromised and unsafe needed a whole new frame costing more then the vehicle. Also on the way to town the engine lights all came on as well.
Once I provided the owner with the information. He had found another vehicle same mileage just one year newer to come trade because he refused to give my fourrunner back knowing that I will have still needed a larger vehicle. But I needed to provide 250 dollars extra for the new one. Would not offer delivery meeting or anything so again I needed to drive my family in the unsafe car back paying for more fuel and lodging.
The next Sequoia was nice but I wasn’t completely happy either but in the position I was I didn’t have much options especially if I wasn’t allowed to have my car back. Upon getting home again I have to spend more money now for servicing and there’s something wrong with the transmission on it.

Also when I arrived with the first car I had not even got my belongings out and their mechanic was out there finding the source of engine light which is minor compared to the true problems. When doing paperwork I provided them with the body shops work saying it’s unsafe and they said oh well we have to get engine lights fixed and stuff. I told them no you can’t sell this. Then I was told they will probably just put it in auction to be sold to some other unexpected buyer. Which is horrible. Just part it out and make what you can but don’t continue to put other people in danger knowingly.
I appreciated the owner got something else for us but I still wish we could have kept our car and went somewhere else as there is no trust at this dealer. Plus when you walk in no one is around or they all hide out in the back office bsing which is pretty annoying.
I’d just warn buyer beware and do all your research and get your own inspections.

Failure to deliver title on a purchased car. Dealer sold us a car he didn't actually have a title for. We paid cash and now we cannot register and in a couple days drive the vehicle legally. Have been pressuring dealer for 3 months to get the title to no avail.

Action Auto Sales and Finance Response • Jul 03, 2018

We had to file for a duplicate title due to the title getting lost in the mail coming from the previous owner. When filing for a duplicate title often times it does take longer than anticipated. The customer has the title and the car is register. This matter is resolved.

Started out good, picked two cars to buy at same time .Did some good faith financial stats and put down a 100.00 deposit to hold one of them for 24 hours.because we live so far away from the Orem area, we hired our mechanic to drive to Orem and perform an inspection,to our disbelief, the cars failed horribly. If we had to pay for the repairs on there so called (bluestar)certified cars... would have been more than 3000.00! The 200.00 inspections was well worth it .when we asked for our deposit back,we never got a responce.the deposit was for a vehicle that should have been mechanically sound, all we want is our 100.00 back. we asked to buy the vehicle with a equivalent repair discount and we're still ignored.

Terrible experience. These guys must have paid people to write the good reviews on google because they are flat out thieves. They try to act nice to manipulate you into purchasing a vehicle and once there's issues with the car and you bring it up to them they go south on you. Purchased a vehicle from them and the same day I got it, it started having major electrical issues. They claim to have "Bluestar" inspected vehicles but won't bother to verify their inspection. They are only out for your money and could care less about you after they have your money. Save your money and go somewhere else. They are liars. They will have you emotionally distressed and won't care about you. They discriminated me against my age being so young and took complete advantage of me. They hide all their problems until you get the vehicle and use the fake "Bluestar" inspection to make you think its a good buy. Stay away.
