Review: I purchased a vehicle from this buisness. In doing so I traded in a vehicle that was being financed through a bank. The payoff for my trade in was supposed to be sent by this buisness to my bank within 10 days of the contract. It has been 40 days and this buisness refuses answer my phone calls or send the payment to the bank for my trade in. I am now making payments on 2 vehicles, one of which I no longer own.Desired Settlement: I would ask if there is anything that can be done legally. This would seem to be a grand theft auto case.

Review: I purchased a car through this dealership last year. Dealership has not registered my car resulting in a $464 fine. [redacted] and [redacted] at the dealership have stop answering my phone calls after assuring me this issue would be resolved by 2/20/2015.Desired Settlement: I would like my car registered and legal to drive in California, and the ticket I received for not having registration paid in full.

Review: In February of 2014, I bought a used 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser from Action Auto Sales in Ceres, CA. The car was purchased for $5,995 and had 88,000 miles on it. I made a $2,000 down payment on the car at the time of purchase as well as five $250 monthly payments. Between the time of purchase and June of 2014, I drove the car for about 7,000 miles. In June of 2014, less than four months and about 6,000 miles later, I began experiencing severe vehicle issues. The car started to overheat and upon turning off the engine, steam rose from the hood and there was an audible draining noise, as well as overheating problems. I took the vehicle to the mechanic the next day and he discovered multiple leaks in the water pump. That racked up a $1,100 bill with parts and labor (including other services, like the timing belt, air conditioning service, etc.). But, unfortunately, this did not fix the problem. So, I took the car back and had the radiator replaced, along with a 20 lb. pressure cap installed as opposed to the default 16 lb. pressure cap. This seemed to only contain the problem, as the overheating began again. It was finally discovered that the head gasket was cracked after smelling antifreeze leaking from the tailpipe. The mechanic also pointed out that the fan is only running on one setting- high or low. But it cannot be determined which until it is taken to a certified Chrysler mechanic. As of today (08/15/14), the car has totaled over $3,000 in damages in a matter of four months of use.I have not been able to make the last payment (due on the first of this month) because it seems as if Action Auto Sales has left town. I have called daily since the first of this month and can only reach a full voicemail. Unfortunately, I had not done sufficient research on this particular car dealer. I have recently found I was not the only one to experience car troubles. Others have made complaints about purchasing stolen vehicles, faulty engines, etc.Desired Settlement: I am requesting the title of the vehicle.

Business

Response:

We give a warranty on all cars that we sell. Consumer's problems came after his warranty had expired. Business states that they did not receive a phone call from consumer in regards to the problems he was experiencing with the vehicle. Consumer took it upon himself to fix the vehicle and ask for the money and did not give the business the opportunity to address the issues. Business states that due to the company policy the expenses incurred by the consumer are not the business responsibility. Business understands the consumer frustration but other than the free 3 month/3,000 mile warranty he was already given, at this point, there is nothing else we can do.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: put 2,000.00 down and made total so far of 5 payments of 250.00 a month on a car that I got to drive 4 months before getting over 4,000.00 in repairs. This guy doesn't answer his business or number on his business card for a reason. I feel like with my time, money and trouble at this point the business should send me the title to the car. Thank you [redacted]

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

I am contacting you concerning my clarification for case ID [redacted] against Action Auto Sales of Ceres, CA.

After approximately $3,200 of repairs, I have not been able to contact the business. I understand the repairs were not covered by the “three month, 3,000 mile warranty,” (which, as you will see on page thirteen of the attached contract, is only a thirty day, 1,000 mile warranty) but the business failed to address their reason for not responding to my phone calls.

My previous car payments (from February to July of 2014) have been made via phone. I have been unable to make my last two payments as I have been unable to contact the business because all of my calls have gone unanswered. I recently sent a certified return receipt to the business and have yet to receive response.

The business stated in response to my original complaint that I failed to contact them to inform them of my needed repairs, but, as stated before, I could not. The business’s Revdex.com response (received yesterday, September 18) was my first contact from the business in over two months.

Along with this message, I have attached payment receipts, repair receipts, and the contract. Please let me know if further clarification is needed. Thank you for all your help.
