Beware Seniors This is he biggest rip-off company in the state of Florida Never trust them or use them

My wife and I have lived in Port Charlotte about monthsWhen we purchase our home and after getting settled we contacted Action Cooling And Heating of Fort Myers to service our AC unit the guy was very nice, but know more thaan minutes into our service call the sales pitch came o you need duct cleaning and a UV sanitis companyizer so we installed it for the sum of $Now we had them back on May again minutes out of truck sales pitch (guys this time) your need to replace all duct work response okay how much $but if you sign up today for work we can give you a $discoutIs there any option yes a dehumidifier for $same discount and UV sanitizer needs a new bulb which is less than a year oldAnd we had a service contract with them to service unit and a new filter well filter is one we do not stock so that will be $dollarsSo needless to say we will NEVER WORK WITH OR REFER this company

Our AC unit wasn't cooling as well as we would likeIt was maintaining a comfortable temperature but our electric bill was high from constant runningWe received a flyer from action cooling and heating and had them come to do an inspectionAfter them leaving our AC is now no longer working! We have two small children and our house went from degrees to degrees after a visit from this company! We have contracted another AC company to replace our system now! Action didn't even give us prices or a plan to move forwardI don't know exactly what happened but I can say our AC was cooling our house and after their visit it is no longer working at all

I have had a really negative experience with Action Cooling and Heating of Ft. Myers.

This bad relationship began in July 2013. My wife and I arrived at our Punta Gorda condo to find the A/C had died. We went to the phone book and called the first HVAC company alphabetically. Action came out and decided that our entire unit needed to be replaced. They quoted us an extremely high price, like $7,500. Since we were only going to be in Florida for a week, we didn't have time to shop for better deals or check reviews, but we did negotiate a lower-- but still exorbitant--price of $6,000 for a middle of the road unit.

At a maintenance check in November 2014, the Action technician informed us that he found mold in the unit and that it would spread and cause disease if left unfixed. He recommended an ultraviolet light system for $2,899, but he let me have for just under $2,000.

In January 2106 I had Action check the system again because the UV light was out. The technician informed me that I had corrosion on the coils, probably caused by the duct work in the attic collapsing. He said he could redo the duct work. Whereas he would normally charge $9,000, he agreed to do it for $7,500. Or he could used a lesser duct material for $5,000.

Finally smelling a rat, I had an independent HVAC company inspect my unit. He said that I had been woefully overcharged for the original installation, perhaps by as much as $1,500. In addition, he saw no evidence of mold anywhere and he saw no need for the $2,000 UV system. He found no serious corrosion on the coils, nor did he see any collapsed duct work after inspecting the attic.

In the opinion of the independent inspector, technicians from Action Cooling and Heating work on salary and on commission, so they push expensive but unnecessary products and services on unsuspecting customers. Unfortunately, some--like me--believed the technicians were acting in the best interests of the customers, when they were merely pumping up profits for themselves and their company.

I was referred to this company by a friend who recently had a/c service done in his house. He told me the person they sent was very knowledgeable and professional. The gentlemen who fixed my a/c was extremely nice and with in a short time had my system up and running again,. The part I liked was that he explained everything to me before doing any work and also made sure I understood what he was saying. I definitely would do business with them in the future.

We have NOT had a good experience with this company - we have tried to work with them but it appears there record keeping is very POOR. For example, they call to schedule maintainance check ups when the check up has been done; they argue with you over the phone that no, it was not done. I then proceed to give them date and the person who did the check up and they just say "ohh" and then hang up. Just this morning we got our third call since our check up was done in November. I would say to anyone "beware" of this company and before you listen to them get a second opinion.
We are very sorry we did not do that initially. We will be seeking out someone else to service our A/C in the future.

In February, 2015 a technician made the semi-annual service call. Before he arrived I told my wife that he would probably try to sell us something. After completing the maintenance of both the outside and inside units he announced that there is a microsial growth in the inside unit. To confirm this he produced a picture of the growth on his smart phone. He recommended the installation of a U.V. purification system at a cost of $1,957. I deferred on making a decision at that time. He left, but called back the following day trying to sell the purification system. The following day I had another HVAC tech look at the system. He told me and showed me that there is absolutely no bacterial growth and that the system is perfectly clean. The fact of the matter is that the company tech lied.
