Review: It is not in the best interest for my children to continue with Action Karate. I followed all the policies and procedures and asked to get out of contract 2 months early. They are giving me a horrible time stating what is in the best interest of my child and what isn't to the point of wanting me to sign a new agreement. As a parent I am very upset and actually appauled that they would not respect my wishes to terminate contract.Desired Settlement: I would like my two months waived.

To Whom it May Concern:In reference to the [redacted] Family, [redacted]. [redacted]’s children trained at our school for 7 months. Families involved in our program enroll for a minimum nine month membership. The reason for this is that we feel that one of the best lessons a child can learn is to stick with something. So many children start activities and then a few weeks later simply drop out. The goal of Action Karate is to combat that mindset—we want our students to learn what we call Black Belt Grit. Students learn to be “gritty” by having the discipline to see something through to the end even though it may be hard or they don’t want to.Keeping that in mind, we also know that every family and child is different. Over the past few months our team has worked with the [redacted] children to help them follow through on their commitment. Over the past 20 years, Action Karate has invested over $100k in learning how to motivate children and adults. The last thing we suggested to [redacted]. [redacted] was to bring the kids to the next level class—we have found that this motivates a lot of children. Our tuition company did offer a compromise though—if the children tried that new class for four weeks and still did not want to continue their training, [redacted]. [redacted] could terminate the contract a month early. Of course we were willing to waive the additional tuition for that higher level class in order to help re-motivate the kids. [redacted]. [redacted] never brought the kids to that class—we however are still willing to honor that offer. If there is any additional information I can provide, please let me know.Sincerely,
