Review: Company built a deck for me in August, 2010, without contacting the building inspector for a final inspection. Inspector claims he was on-site with contractor and pointed out everything that had to be done to bring the deck up to code. I was notified of this on February 14, 2014 because the permit was still outstanding. Inspector stated he tried to contact contractor numerous times to no avail. Deck is not up to code according to inspector. I sent contractor a certified letter which was never picked up at the Post Office, followed up with another letter which the Post Office verified was placed in contractor's mailbox. Still no acknowledgement of receipt or phone call. In the meantime, I've had to replace the sliding door which he installed improperly as well as having roughly $3,000 in repairs done to the deck last summer. In addition, the rails have split and while trying to contact [redacted] (materials used) thinking this was a warranty issue, [redacted] informed me that the railings were installed improperly which therefore nullified the warranty. Floorboards are loose also. Deck is in need of major repair in addition to making it passable for inspection. Also need to have the warranty reinstated with [redacted] in the event of future issues.Desired Settlement: Since deck was obviously improperly installed, I would like to hire another contractor to do the necessary repairs and fix the code issues at the expense of Action Now (Kevin Nowakowski) as I do not wish to have him back on the property to try and address these issues himself. If he couldn't do it right the first time, I don't believe he is capable of fixing all of the problems now. At the very least, I would be willing to split the cost so as not to have to pay for everything myself.

Review: The Action Now workers threw the shingles from the top roof onto my three bushes in front of my front porch causing holes throughout all of them. They had nothing in place to protect them. I pointed it out to [redacted] the first day. He apologized. When he wanted payment I told him apologizing is not enough. These bushes were at least 50 years old and he had ruined them. We agreed for him to pay $100.00 for each bush that he ruined. I had him write on the contract minus $300.00 for damaging the bushes. That was on Friday Oct. 3rd. Today, Oct. 8th, I get a call from the person who dropped off the dumpster. He told me I have to pay $300.00 for him to come and pick up the dumpster. He said [redacted] was not going to pay. I called [redacted] and he said he wasn't going to pay because I bullied him about paying for the bushes. He said if I don't pay the person who dropped of the dumpster, he would come and empty all the contents of the dumpster onto my lawn. The original price for putting a new roof was $5070 which included everything. I paid him $4770 because of ruining my bushes, which he agreed to.Desired Settlement: [redacted] has to pay for the dumpster and the contents to be removed from my property. The contents has to be dropped off into a landfill.
