Review: The service man shows up with an initial $75 fee to ck to see the problem. The serviceman, fixes the problem while troubleshooting, before giving an estimate to the owner. Once he fixes the problem then he checks with his boss to see how much is the part he fixed and tells me $275.00. He now has got the customer cause the dryer is fixed already and turns to me asks what do you want to do. The dryer is fixed already, he forced me into paying him that amount since it was fixed already. There was no written estimate or explanation of parts or charges. This is a scam to fix the problem before you know how much it is.Desired Settlement: I want a refund , I feel I was scammed into paying this company, with no choice.

The stop payment was made after the service I received from the company and my dryer still not working. I would never recall a scam company like this that can not due honest work and fix a dryer right the first time. I had to call in another company which repaired it half the price.

Review: We had a service visit on July **, 2013 at which time the technician claimed to replace parts that he charged for and were never replaced. He also told us that we had to pay $500 for the service either way so we better get freon too. This was on a 98 degree day and although the freon was put into the condenser the amount of freon put in was never put on the invoice according to protocol and as required by the EPA. The air handler was full of black mold and the technician never informed us although he claims he replaced parts in it that we paid for but they were not replaced. The air conditioner barely worked afterwards and they failed to show up for a follow up visit.Desired Settlement: We expect to get a full refund of the $500 .

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They have not justified the $500 charge for a service that should not have been that much. They came in and said due to the heat it would be $500 whether they put a $5 part in or a $50 part in. Thi sis price gauging. We did not put in four calls that went unresponded. We still expect a full refund for price gauging - services were not rendered.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Services were not rendered and certainly did not warrant a charge of $500.00. There is not itemized bill showing what warranted $500 in charges. Parts charged were not supplied.

Review: I called Action Repair Service to come and repair my washing machine. The serviceman told me I needed a new electrical panel for $395.00. I asked him if he thought I should get a new washing machine and he assured me that the new panel would solve the issue and not to worry because all parts were guaranteed for 1 year and that if it didn't work they'd refund my money. Since a new machine would have been double the price, I agreed figuring I had nothing to lose. It worked for a couple of loads but then the same problem happened again and again. The serviceman came back 5 times! The last time he said a wire was lose and taped it in. He then said I may need a new wire harness and I said if that cost more than a hundred dollars I would want my money back and I'd buy a new machine. The serviceman told me that would not be a problem. Well the problem happened again and this time I spoke to [redacted] and I told him I wanted my money back, since the new part would be over $200.00. He refused, and after arguing for a long time he said there was nothing wrong with the part and that all the times his men came back I wasn't charged. I feel I was totally misled and swindled out of $395.00. He even tried to convince me to buy a new machine from him! I feel I deserve my money back. I even told him he could take back the part he put in. He refused to give in.Desired Settlement: I want my $395.00 back.

Review: What should have been a simple issue in “fixing” led to a $240 bill by the people from Action Repair Service of [redacted]. My elderly parents ([redacted] and [redacted]).

called for a repair to the washer, believing that it was gushing water. The reality of the matter is the function selection dial was not properly aligned, and basically indicated the improper setting. When the lid was opened, the water stopped flowing as it should have during a normal rinse cycle. The repairman spent about 15 minutes in “troubleshooting” and replaced a part (water level switch), which I subsequently found online for $26. When pressed, the company told me that I couldn’t rely on costing from online sources; the reality is, he was right. That price was retail… to me and the price would’ve been less for the company or $26 at the very worst! No estimate or fee schedule was provided in advance, and the issue was simply put down to “a part needing replacing”. Labor costs were not factored in as the person I spoke to claimed that you cannot simply count how long it took and add the cost of parts to the labor. There are currently 9 other listed complaints regarding this company, and my story apparently fits right into the general theme of the complaints listed. The upshot also is that the selector dial is still not aligned, though that is not a necessary repair for the machine to function, one just has to line it up, and that the part may not have been necessary (the repairman did not leave the defective part behind). If one takes into account that a local company took 15 minutes even at $100 per hour, the cost should’ve been about $50. Even with a minimum service charge of $100 (labor applied to that time), the cost should’ve been about 1/3 of the total cost incurred. When asked , the company person stated, “We don’t charge an hourly rate”. On the Revdex.com site, one complainant stated that he was told that a service call was $85.00 applied toward the service. This means that the charge should have been approximately $100 rather than the $240.00.Desired Settlement: partial refund

Response:

The company did call me today and I did and do accept the response. In all fairness, I do believe that I should have received more, given the circumstances that I truely believe the entire repair was unnecessary and that even had it been necessary it was an outrageous cost. But I am satisfied that the attention was given to it and that a portion of the cost will be returned.

And now it is essential to add that I am truely impressed with the Revdex.com. I have never made a complaint before. The Revdex.com was professional and very quick moving with this. I am very grateful. Thank you so much for your help in this matter.

Review: I had mold in my air conditioners. We knew this because it was coming out of the vents. There was 3 in the wall units. We called action repair. They sent two men to clean the units. They just sprayed the outside of the units and blow out the condenser. The guy charged me $500. This happened on 4/**/15. Than on 5/**/15 we called action repair back. Told them that the mold was still there in 2 of them. They sent a crew out the next day to remove the units. They charge me another $340 to remove them. They said that it was for labor and the cleaning free. The $340 should have been part of the original $500 payment. Felt scammed.Desired Settlement: Billing Adjustment
