Action Restoration Services, Inc Reviews (3)

I was told to plan to be out of my house 3-4 wks. I sustained H2O damage on 1/7/14 and still have not returned to my home. On 1/7/14 I sustained a water leak caused by cold weather. I called progressive plumbing and scheduled repair. The plumber arrived on 1/10/14 and discovered that the kitchen sink pipe line burst d/t weather freeze event. He saw the need for additional help and stated cabinet and sink need to be removed before he could complete his work. He also stated his company Progressive Plumbing also provided services for water restoration, but the name of the company was action restoration. I accepted and he called to schedule an appt. The following day the action restoration reps. met with me and discussed the steps ahead. The initial meeting was very informative, but afterwards there was nearly no communication from the company unless I contacted them. There was no communication about when my belongings were going to be removed. I only found out about this when my alarm sounded and received call from Alarm Company. My friend was off at the time and was able to check alarm event for me since I was at work at that time. He went to the house to discover my belongings being packed by several women. I was not alerted as to when my belongings were going to be removed and as of this date I do not know where my belongings have been stored. My carpet and wood flooring were removed very timely. Fan's blew around the clock for ~ 1 1/2 - 2 wks. I'd stop by my house daily mostly, sometimes every other day to see progress. There was lots of inactivity. On multiple occasions I discovered my house was left w/o my alarm being activated and without my deadbolt locks secure. I even discovered that my storm doors front and rear were left locked in the open position. I contacted the company multiple times, many calls went unanswered. Three weeks After the initial water cleanup I discovered water on floor in foyer area and this water remained present for another week. I had to call and ask why was water on floor and where was it coming from. Two days later this was was removed. After approx. 2-3 weeks of inactivity I inquired about status of pending repairs work and I made payment timely for water restoration, but I had to request an invoice to see what was included on statement. On 2/20/14 I called Action Restoration to see why my calls were not being responded to. I voiced my frustation with the lack of action that I had been receiving. I received a call from [redacted] the next day stating that he had been forwarded part of my message and concurred that the company was going thru a transition period and they had dropped the ball. He did offer an appology with the failing to keep their end of the agreement. After this conversation I called him twice about my home being left non secured. I called and told him that I was terminating any further work with them because of the way they had continue to conduct business with me. I spoke again with Mr. [redacted] again today and asked for the sheet rock placed in base board area to be removed since I had not approved for this to be done. I also told him that I was not satisfied with the quality of work.My house has been left in disarray, excessive dust, and my sink, counters, countertops, and appliances are all displaced. In addition to myself my son has been displaced. Fortunately we have been living with my mother throughout this ordeal. I am just disappointed with the lack of service that this company has provided to me. They made promises that they have failed to deliver. The charges for the sheed rock is ludicrist. I hope that you will also look into price gauging with this complany because it is apparent that they are truly taking advantange of circumstances caused by acts of nature at a time when lives are most vulnerable.I have really been professional and cordial to this company and just want justice for my family and others.Sincerly,[redacted]Desired SettlementI would like for the the sheet rock to be removed and for corresponding fees to be removed from my bill. I would like for all belongings to be returned back to my home. Business Response /[redacted]/Contact Name and Title: [redacted],PresidenContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@callactionrestoration.comApril 15, 2014Revdex.com5540 Mumford Road Suite 130Raleigh, NC XXXXXRe: Case # 11091768: [redacted]In response to the complaints made by Mrs. [redacted], our company works in conjunction with the homeowner's insurance company. We work directly with assigned insurance adjuster on how to mitigate those areas in the home which have been affected by the plumbing leak. In so doing we follow the standard protocol listed in the LLCRC 500 booklet. We are subject to the insurance adjuster's availability schedule in order to perform the necessary mitigation and repairs to the dwelling. In response to door being left unlocked, the door was locked every time we left the job. However, the dead bolt lock on the door is improperly aligned and cannot be locked from the outside. In response to alarm not being set after work is completed each day, we did not set the alarm because of liability issues, Action Restoration and its contractors will not set home alarms. All of our pricing is set by the software provided to us by the insurance company and cannot be altered. Estimates for jobs are reviewed and approved by adjuster before any moneys are issued. In regards to the water in the floor, the reason for this was a faulty refrigerator valve, which we capped off at no charge to Ms. [redacted]. We also cleaned up the water and dried out the affected area, also at no cost to Ms. [redacted]. Finally, the drywall installed in Mrs. [redacted] home was done so properly. Due to communication issues with Ms. [redacted] we will not be pulling the drywall out of the home, but because of the complaint raised by Mrs. [redacted], we will not charge Ms, [redacted] for the cost of the drywall or the cost of the services performed for installation of the drywall. Thank you.[redacted]President

Our house flooded for the first time this summer during a very heavy rainfall. Our house was one of many in the Raleigh area that flooded. We contacted a number of restoration companies, but the folks at Action Restoration were by far the most responsive, courteous, and hard working. They did what they said they were going to do, they began work immediately and worked late hours to remove water, debris, personal belongings, etc. They have worked closely with our insurance company to assure that we receive all that we are entitled to receive, and they have been very patient with payment as we wait for a check from the insurance company. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I had extensive smoke and water damage at my home in W Raleigh and Action did a amazing job from start to finish. They worked around my schedule and my home never looked better. Thanks to [redacted] and his team.
