Action Spa Repair Reviews (2)

The original equipment repair was on November 5th, during which a pump and a section of 2” plumbing was replacedWe then were called out May 2nd, for a water leak, the technician noted there was “cracked flex plumbing.” We again replaced some plumbing and at this time noted that there was chemical damage to the plumbingWe were called out again February 10th, for additional leaksWe again stated to him that there was extensive chemical damage affecting the plumbing as well as recommending discussing chemical levels with his pool companyWe suspected they may be using Trichlor (Chlorine for use in Swimming Pools NOT Spas) in his spa because the inside of the section of flex pipe that was removed was consistent with damage from excessive chlorine/low PH levels. We received a call in November stating that he had leaks again and hired another company that was going to re-plumb his spa and that he wanted his money backAfter pulling up his invoices we told him that we had noted on the past several invoices of chemical damage to the plumbingCustomer insisted that chemicals could not damage the plumbing and it was poor workmanship on our partHe insisted on a refund or “would file bad reviews on yelp and with the Revdex.com”Because we had noted multiple times prior to this of the chemical damage and he was well outside of our 90-day warranty period we stated we would not be able to issue a refund.Customer kept stating his pool guy said chemistry was fine and couldn’t damage the pipesWe suggested he con- tact a manufacturer for a third party opinion since the pool guy had a vested interest in saying the water chemis- try was fine.Customer did later change his yelp reviewThis is my edited reviewI was a little frustrated with the communi- cation with the company, but after a second evaluation with my hot tub, I have been educated on what Action Spa Repair was trying to convey.Pictured below is a spa cover you can clearly see the portion exposed to the water and the effects of bad chemis- try compared to the portion not exposedAlso are portions of used plumbing the piece on the left is blistered, cracked, and damaged from chemicalsThe piece on the right is used plumbing from another properly main- tained spa

The original equipment repair was on November 5th, 2012 during which a pump and a section of 2” plumbing was replaced. We then were called out May 2nd, 2014 for a water leak, the technician noted there was “cracked flex plumbing.” We again replaced some plumbing and at this time noted that there was...

chemical damage to the plumbing. We were called out again February 10th, 2015 for additional leaks. We again stated to him that there was extensive chemical damage affecting the plumbing as well as recommending discussing chemical levels with his pool company. We suspected they may be using Trichlor (Chlorine for use in Swimming Pools NOT Spas) in his spa because the inside of the section of flex pipe that was removed was consistent with damage from excessive chlorine/low PH levels. We received a call in November 2015 stating that he had leaks again and hired another company that was going to re-plumb his spa and that he wanted his money back. After pulling up his invoices we told him that we had noted on the past several invoices of chemical damage to the plumbing. Customer insisted that chemicals could not damage the plumbing and it was poor workmanship on our part. He insisted on a refund or “would file bad reviews on yelp and with the Revdex.com”. Because we had noted multiple times prior to this of the chemical damage and he was well outside of our 90-day warranty period we stated we would not be able to issue a refund.Customer kept stating his pool guy said chemistry was fine and couldn’t damage the pipes. We suggested he con- tact a manufacturer for a third party opinion since the pool guy had a vested interest in saying the water chemis- try was fine.Customer did later change his yelp review. This is my edited review. I was a little frustrated with the communi- cation with the company, but after a second evaluation with my hot tub, I have been educated on what Action Spa Repair was trying to convey.Pictured below is a spa cover you can clearly see the portion exposed to the water and the effects of bad chemis- try compared to the portion not exposed. Also are portions of used plumbing the piece on the left is blistered, cracked, and damaged from chemicals. The piece on the right is used plumbing from another properly main- tained spa.
