I am rejecting this response because: As you can see by the attachment they knew we were painting it before they took the job and didn't tell me it needed to be a specific type of paintAs well they knew exactly what they applying it to by the pic I sent them before they took the job and it was done on a morning where it was clearly cool based on the attachment.

The customer did not request that we paint his sign nor ask advice about his painting of the sign.The only discussion about paint was after we installed the vinyl graphicsThe paint is only halfthe problem as the dark gray metal sign gets very hot which is not conducive to adhesive vinyl sticking

The customer called for vinyl lettering on an existing exterior metal sign. We suggested that he bring the sign it to our shop and we would be best able to take care of it there. The customer said he could not take it down and wanted us to install the vinyl graphics on the sign. He did...

request the we paint his sign nor ask advice about painting the sign. The customer painted the sign with an exterior latex house paint and painted it a dark gray. The metal sign is on a south facing metal corrugated building. The vinyl graphics were to be installed on a sunny 90 degree morning but the sign was hot to work with. We could ot install it then and returned later in the day when the sun was on the other side of the building and then installed the vinyl graphics. We told the customer that there was a good chance that the vinyl would not hold because the sign got way to hot and that the paint was not optimal for a sign.

I am rejecting this response because: they never told me what they are claiming nor did they have me sign a waiver saying that they warned me of such things. All such info about the paint came up after we started having problems. As the sign professional they have the right and obligation to say up front what problems may arise, if I as a customer choose to not heed the warnings they have two options. Option 1 have me sign some doc saying I'm taking responsibility if it fail and do the job anyways. Option 2 don't take the job if they feel it will not work under the conditions.
