My husband & I came across Erasmo when we were looking to add a room to our house (which is a whole other issue but if you would like to know the specifics of what happened I will let you know)... We have a signed contract with Erasmo where it says that the contractor is responsible for getting the permits needed for the job... He obviously didn't get them cause here I am... We need to buy the house from ourselves & are being told from the lender that they are requiring the permits from the addition in order to get the financing for the house.. So we had let him know that we needed them on 12/23 & hadn't gotten anything from him.. He apparently was out of town & was supposed to get them for us on Monday (he happens to like Mondays)... Well needless to say Monday hasn't arrived... So I called the city to see about getting the permits & was told that no permits had been requested for our address... So I asked what I needed to do in order to get this taken care of... I was told I need to apply for the permits, then (since our project had been completed) I need to have an electrical & structural engineer to come out & make holes in my new walls to make sure that everything was done to code... I sent Erasmo a text on 1/19 advising him of what I was told & what his options were, either he gets someone out here to fix this, I call around to get quotes or we sue him to fix this.. Either way he was going to have to pay for it cause if he had gotten the permits like he was supposed to have done like it stipulated in his contract we wouldn't be in this situation with the bank... I also gave him 30 days to get it taken care of cause he LOVES to take him time with everything... He replied (acknowledging he got the text) saying he would call us at a certain time... Which he did & said that he would be going to get the permits & has an engineer that he could get out here to get this taken care off... So when I called him out on 1/23 Saturday for his lack of action he sent this:
"Woo sorry meant to send u a message. Was not able to pull permit yesterday . They showed my insurance to be expired. I already had my insurance people send em copy of updated insurance. I pay yearly they never had received updated copy. I will have to get it Monday morning . They have all paper work already."
Well needless to say Monday hasn't arrived again... Here we 1/27 Wednesday... So now I'm forced to call around to get quotes from the engineers then call an attorney & start a suit against him & the company..
Do not give this man your business... He takes on too much work... His own guys told us that we shouldn't of hired him... That he falls behind on everything & will promise to catch up but NEVER does... I really didn't want to do this cause the guys that he contracts do a good job & are good guys... But he has left me no choice.
