Acura of Brookfield Reviews (1)

Review: I bought a new Acura MDX from this dealership in August. Days later I notice both front door are out of shape: so I told the issue through a phone call with the sales man [redacted]. He let me bring in to let service to have a look. The service told me that they are normal and any new car has little this or that problem. I did believe that at that time. Later on I find that none other new car has that problem and the problem is serious, so I complained again. When I complained this issue with upper level Acura support who work national-wide, they told me this should not be a defect as a new car, and possible a damage introduced in transportation or some point. They do agree to fix the car. But I feel is unfair to bought a damaged car by using a new car price. I have right to know the history of the car: if the problem is a defect or a damage. If it is a damage, I should be told, otherwise this deal is not only a cheating, but also may be a criminal.Desired Settlement: I want to know if the door's problem is a defect or a damage. If it is a damage, how the damage is introduced and who fixed it. If other parts have been damaged too. I need a clear explanation from the dealership on writing.

Response:

Client did come in after delivery with a concern about the driver's door. There was a very slight depression close to the door edge that was only visible if you looked for it at a steep angle in the correct light. We had no record of this imperfection on our delivery receipt when the car was delivered here from the transportation company. We also inspected the car at time of sale, clean-up and at delivery to the retail cus[redacted]er but there was nothing found. Despite these inspections which are normal procedure for all new cars, it could have been there all along because it is very hard to detect. On Mr. [redacted]'s first visit to us with the concern, we informed him that we could send it to a body shop to fix but that would require repainting the door after the repair is made and that the factory finish would be disturbed which we wouldn't recommend. He left and then came back later to complain the second time. We agreed to fix the door and re-paint it at a body shop but again said we wouldn't recommend this. We agreed to pick up the car on Monday, October 12th which we did. The car is now at Marshall Auto Body being repaired. Acura National Client Services agreed with our action.[redacted]
