Shortly after taking delivery of the car, Ms. [redacted] expressed her unhappiness with the transaction, specifically stating that she did not feel she got the vehicle she thought she should have. Initially, she had test driven an "ILX Premium" model (the demo model, which is one trim level up from...

the ILX standard model), but after some negotiation, she decided the ILX Premium was too much to pay each month. We then priced out the ILX standard model she ultimately took delivery of, which fit her desired monthly budget. A day or two later, Ms. [redacted] contacted her salesman to express her displeasure with the car's lack of certain features and to see what could be done to get the Premium model but, since she didn't want to pay any additional money, was told that the model she took delivery of was the only one that would fit her budget. At that point, the salesman asked her what, short of offering her the Premium model at no extra charge, would make her happy. She offered no solution at that point. A few days later, she said that she would be happy if we covered her 1st month's payment. As a good-will gesture, we agreed to that. A few days later, she still wasn't satisfied and we told her there was no more we could do. She contacted Acura Customer Relations (CR) in California who relayed Ms. [redacted] concern to us. We explained the entire situation to CR and they responded to Ms. [redacted] that they, too, could do nothing. Unfortunately, we will not be able to honor Ms. [redacted] request to return the car.

I am rejecting this response because:
J[redacted] response isn't any more true today then it was then. His so called "good will" offer is totally unacceptable.

$16,500. He signed for a price that included a vehicle service contract and a tire & wheel damage policy although he does acknowledge that his “$16,500” offer did not include those items. Shortly after taking delivery, he decided to cancel the tire & wheel damage policy and we refunded the full retail price of the policy to the financing bank, in effect lowering his unpaid loan balance. About two months after his purchase, Mr. [redacted] asked to meet with me to discuss his displeasure with what he perceived to be a price discrepancy. During our meeting, he explained his concern of being overcharged based on his belief that he had offered an out-the-door price of $16,500. Together, we reviewed the deal paperwork and it shows a vehicle purchase price of $15,300 less $300 for his trade. To recap: $15,300.00 the price of the vehicle before trade-in is applied Less $300.00 trade-in value $15,000.00 taxable amount Plus $1331.25 8.875% NYC sales tax Plus $259.00 documentation fee Plus $22.00 temporary plate and title flip fee Plus $67.25 NYDMV registration fee $16,679.50 out-the-door price BEFORE VSC/TIRE & WHEEL POLICIES Although the alleged “discrepancy” was only $179.50 ($16,679.50 less his $16,500 offer), I made a good will gesture to reimburse him $300 to compensate not only for the alleged discrepancy but also to cover the various expenses he incurred traveling to NJ from NYC. To my surprise, he refused the offer. He continues to maintain that there is a $2142 discrepancy. There is not.I explained there was nothing more I could do as all the paperwork he signed was in order. In the interest of Mr. [redacted]’ satisfaction with Acura of Ramsey, my offer of $300 still stands. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted]’ complaint.
