VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!Went to a open house in Eagle Point, Oregon today the open house was from
11-2 our gps took us on the wrong route we showed up 2 minutes after 2 we asked if we could still see the house she said yes. ( she rudely told us you don't rely on a gps) Kari Dimick was extremely rude we asked a few questions about the layout of the house being strange instead of explaining that the owners designed the house that way and that we could customize a home our own way she rudely stated that she did not customize the house for us she did for them. . Okay what a sales lady she was so rude with her comments we left. Very poor customer service. We plan on building on a 2 1/2 acre parcel of land we have been trying to see the different house styles in person. Please advise if we do decide to go with Adair can we work with a different planner. Thank you

I hired Adair to build my home, it was completed December of Since then, my shingles have blown off the roof and now my electrical has an issueThey double tapped breakers in our electrical panel which is overloading the breaker that keeps tripping itThis breaker has cadet heaters running off of it and is not up to codeI would never recommend this company to build your house, they are fast but the house is not up to the standards that most builders would provide, nor do they stand behind their productI have contacted them a couple times and they just tell me that it is out of warranty even though this is a matter of intentional and illegal practicesAn electrical inspector will tell you that you cannot double tap a breaker

Our home built by Adair has a serious roof design flaw which we want repaired according to the contractAll of the contacts we have with Adair are ignoring our issues
Rain water does not divert from roof valley into rain guttersPosing the issue of rain water reaching the underside of the roof and possibly causing rotting from water damage Adair will not respond to text messages, phone calls or emails The Adair representative in charge of our home build signed an agreement with us that the roof would be “done” by the last day of June It is now September 25, and it is not “done”

Adair Homes inefficiently performed their job and forced all of the expenses incurred into my family and IWe had a contractual agreement with them that they would have our home plans ready for permit approval within days, it took them daysWe were told that the financing aspect, provided by their sister company, *** *** *** would take days, it took them daysBecause of these delays, we were subjected to a $price Increase on our home construction, and instead of accepting any responsibility, they tried to tell us that this was primarily our fault, and refused to even negotiate the price increaseThey paint a pretty picture, but in reality crush their customers if there is any hiccup that causes them to have to pay anything

When we ordered our home we used Chris from the Silverdale office. We had ordered the kitchen on display for our home and dropped by the construction site when the materials were being delivered to the new home. Imagine our surprise when they pulled out-dated cabinets from the delivery truck. We immediately contacted Chris and let him know they had delivered the wrong materials. He then told us there was no mistake and that we had ordered the cabinets. Since the delivered cabinets were not the same as those on display, we knew there has been a mistake. We asked Chris to fix the problem. He said he would look into finding a solution and get back to us. After two weeks of no response, we reached out again and he said we could buy the cabinets we wanted for another $6,800 and that we had actually overpaid $2,200 for the cabinets we did not want. When we said there had clearly been a mistake, when he entered the code when taking our order, he said it would be unlikely since it was a difficult mistake to make. We then complained to the regional manager and explained how this was not the first mistake Chris had made. His response was that while it was Adair's responsibility to not make mistakes, it was our responsibility to catch them before we signed the contract. We explained that we were not able to decipher the order code on the order document he had sent to our home to sign since there is no way of verifying the order codes online. He said we should have driven in to the Silverdale office (a 45min drive) and manually verified all the codes on the order before signing. Adair has now taken the stance that we lied and that they made no mistake. I do not see any logic we would have for ordering cabinets we did not want at a higher price, but that is apparently the lengths a budget construction company will go to save some money. I would beware of using Adair as we have learned the hard way.

We will continue to provide updates as the saga continues

Adair Homes offers a 120 day price protection, which is an industry leading timeframe.  Which means our customers home price is locked from the time of Order Ratification, and as long as the customers site is ready within 120 days, their homes price stays locked all the way through...

construction.  If a customer does not meet the 120 period, and within that period of time Adair has increased prices on all of our homes, the customer is subject to the new pricing.  It is important to be clear that we do not increase the prices for individual customers, we raise prices across all plans and markets at the same time.In the current housing market, the cost to build homes is increasing in 15% per year range. This includes the cost of materials to build homes (lumber..etc and the labor to build homes (plumber..).  As these industry costs increase Adair is forced to raise our prices accordingly.  I have included an article below that highlights the challenges that the building industry is dealing as it relates to price increases. https://www.realestateconsulting.com[redacted]As the [redacted]  mentioned, there was a price increase on their home which was required to be captured.  The actual price increase on this particular model in this branch increases by approx $12,000, although we elected to only require that $4,500 be collected. In other words, if the customer where to order this home today, the price of the home would be more than $8,000 more than what the customer ultimately paid.   This is a discount of 66%. Adair does not guarantee specific turn times on drafted plans, as detailed by the [redacted]. Having said that, even if we had delivered the customers plans in the stated 60 days the customer would have still missed price protection by 30 days.  (Price Protection expired 11/21/2017 and they delivered there lot ready on 1/19/2018).We met our contractual obligation and believe we also made a tremendous effort by discounting their price increase substantially.

Review: We decided to have Adair Homes build our house in 2011. We have had our share of ups and downs with the company; everything from contractors not showing up, saw dust in new carpet, to leaky doors. We chose Adair as our home builders because they prided themselves in coming back after the job and fixing the problems. However, we have called Adair several times to come fix multiple things. We recognize that with any new house you are going to have small problems and there have been times when Adair addressed these quite timely. Unfortunately, there have been many more times that we have had to call the Corporate office to get things fixed. We have three leaky doors that have been a problem since we moved in. They have came and tried to fix it and every time was unsuccessful. We submitted our most recent request to fix the doors in November and submitted it several times. Each time we were told they were "working on it", and this was the response for several weeks. For a company that prided themselves in coming back to fix things, they were not proving it. In the beginning of April we were finally contacted by Adair regarding the doors and we were told that they would be there within the week. That week has come and gone again with empty promises. We are extremely frustrated with Adair's empty promises and the lack of follow through to fix their mistakes.Desired Settlement: We would like other to not have to go through what we went through. We would like to have our front door replaced, the other doors repaired and the window in the garage fixed. After that we would like to make sure that the doors still don't leak and if they do for Adair to come back in a timely fashion and resolve the problem[redacted]

Thank you for the letter dated 4/8/2013

informing Adair Homes that the Revdex.com has received a

complaint from our customers, [redacted] And [redacted].

The Management team at Adair Homes

regrets that the customer is dissatisfied with the level of customer service

they has received thus far and we are prioritizing this issue in order to

resolve it as expeditiously as possible.

An appointment has been made with

the customer for Saturday April 13 2013, as we are now in receipt of the previously

backordered materials necessary to correct this issue. We will be replacing the exterior entry

door which has been confirmed as warped to do a manufacturer defect. In addition, we will be replacing a window

that has been compromised due to a minor stress crack. Each of these items will be completed during

the Saturday appointment. Finally, this

customer complaint has been elevated internally and an Adair representative

will make it a priority to revisit the property at the customer’s request, to

evaluate and verify that there are no additional issues.

Adair basically has ZERO customer service. They rely on everything going as planned, and cannot recover from anything out of their normal procedures. This means if you build one of the homes they’ve dome a hundred times in a location that’s close to one of their offices, things might be OK, and that’s the only way I can figure this company has stayed in business. Outside of that, their service, performance, everything is poor to nonexistent.
We sucker in to a moderately customized home (modified plan 1560) for a location in the foothills where we get some snow. I nearly bailed when they quoted the 40% price increase for additional engineering, materials and extra mileage, but proceeded anyway. Things started OK, but when they failed the first inspection for framing (due to the snow load changes), their whole system failed. No one knew what to do, and at one point I thought they had built a tear down!! Trusses were wrong, had to be removed, nailing and beams were wrong, and the framers were never given instructions. Workers would show up with no instructions, incorrect materials, or just not ready. On more than one occasion, workers would drive the 3 hours to our site from their Pasco location, shout profanities due to the fact that “no one told me…” and drive back to Pasco. I was embarrassed to have ever even though of using Adair. Our construction superintendent had no idea how to fix things, had no poser to do so. Our administrator was clueless on what to do too, so sent problems to the superintendent, who was still clueless. So his regional supervisor got involved, could fix it. Forwarded me to their corporate V.P of construction, who called me and said, wow, we’ve screwed up big time. We’ll tear things apart, skip by on the last couple inspections, acknowledged that I’m not going to get what I had purchased, but the structure might be minimally acceptable. And the VP told me that Adair deserves a negative review. So here it is! Good luck. I would never use Adair, not recommend them to anyone.
