We are an out of network provider for the insurance Mrs. [redacted] has, we ensure we advise out patients prior to her dental visit to our practice of the difference from being in network and out of network. Due to being an out of network provider the remaining balance of what is not paid by dental...

insurance is the patient responsibility. This is why we collected a co-pay the day of Mrs. [redacted]'s appointment. After the miscommunication of the dental x-rays (which are required for all new patients) we took a courtesy adjustment of $253.00. This was the cost of only the x-rays taken on Mrs. [redacted]. We felt due to the miscommunication between our Practice and the patient we took the courtesy write off. A copy of her ledger has been attached for your review.At the time of Mrs. [redacted]'s appointment I was out of the practice. When I returned on June 22nd, I followed up with Mrs. [redacted] and once more to hear what had happened the day of her appointment and to once more offer our apologies for what had transpired. It is never our intent to mislead our patients. That is not the business we are in. We pride ourselves in serving our patients and ensuring they are satisfied with our services. I advised Mrs. [redacted] after her dental claim for the date of service June 18th, 2015 there would be a possible refund sent to her. I explained once more the difference between and in network provider and an out of network provider. I also informed her the best way to find someone in the network is via her dental insurance card and the 800 number located in the back. All she had to do was give them her zip code and the rep would find in network providers for her to choose from. I also sent an email recapping our conversation and a medical release form to release her dental records when she is ready.If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.Thank you,[redacted]
