Fraudulent use of credit card.
On September 21,2018 I agreed to pay step-daughter, Amy Roederer's payment of $5,000 to the firm of Jeffrey ***. I stated only this amount to be charged. October 4th I noticed a charge of $575 on my credit card. This payment was from bookkeeping accounting firm associated with Jeffrey ***. This was fraudulent use of my card. I never gave authorization for this charge. I called and spoke with Carol at the firm who informed me that Amy gave her permission to use my card. This was an outright lie. Amy never spoke to them and even if she had told them to use it that was not her right to do so. Also I paid the $5,000 because they threatened Amy with jail time and said they were coming to her place of employment that day Friday September 21st to take her to jail. She is a single Mom raising a daughter and her granddaughter and she was beyond consolable believing this to be true. This has been stressful for all involved.
Credit my account the $575 charge.
This transaction was authorized by Amy. It was in repayment for a bad check that was written for the down payment of her car. No threats of jail were mentioned and we have a recording of the conversation for training purposes. We *** gladly credit back the card for the $575.00 and pursue Amy for that amount.
