Hyatt Legal Plan
I had a consultation that was covered with my Hyatt legal plan with Mr. 6 months ago. He has sent me an invoice that stated the work would cost to get started. Fast forward six months when I had funds to get started and wanted to ask some more questions his really rude secretary said that the the attorney was refusing to speak with me till I paid for the service that was never started and she claims it was for his billable time . I checked the invoice and it specifically states this invoice was to start the case
My secretary try to respond to this complaint while I was out of the country in South America and y’all refuse to talk to her. Below is the email I sent to Mr.You complained that I sent you an invoice for a retainer. A retainer is when you pay in advance for services that you’re going to receive from an attorney. Almost every attorney requires that you pay a retainer in advance. The reason is because a lot of times we do a lot of work for clients and then they don’t pay us. It’s not like we can put our hours back on the shelf and resell them to somebody else.I already spoke to you at length about your case, sent you the invoice for a retainer, and months later have not been paid.The value of that first consult would’ve been about $150 based on my billable rate. Hyatt paid me $15. Therefore I was not going to spend anymore time talking to you until you paid me in advance. Any attorney who doesn’t require payment in advance doesn’t have enough clients or work and is desperate for cases. I hope this clarifies things for you. Sorry for any confusion.Best Regards

We did not refuse to talk we were very excited to work with you just needed to save up the funds as I stated during our original call. Your office manager told us you are refusing to talk to us at all. We just wanted to clarify some questions we were ready to pay and start but you and your office manager left a very sour taste in our mouth. She told us you were back in the office at the time and in court and did not want to take our call. I’m regards for your payment for Hyatt if that’s all they paid you for the consultation that’s something you take up with them . They told me alll consultations are included with my Hyatt legal plan
