Review: In July 2012, Adams Avenue Bicycles disassembled, packed/boxed, and prepared my road bike for shipping to New York. When the bike arrived to me in NY, a reputable bike shop discovered damages as a result of improper disassemble (i.e. a crack in the seat post due to over-tightening of a clamp.) Photos were taken and sent to [redacted], manager of Adams Avenue Bicycles, and conversations with [redacted] resulted in an agreement that repairs would be taken care of by Adams Avenue Bicycles and for me to find a bike shop in NY that could make necessary repairs. I have an email from [redacted] advising me to find a local bike shop in NY to make the repairs.
After finding a reputable shop, [redacted], and repairs completed, Adams Avenue Bicycles has dodged phone calls, emails, and messages from me in order to pay the NY bike shop. Repairs to the polycarbon frame were estimated at approximately $555.00, and [redacted] was made aware of the estimate and invoice. The owner, Andrew, has spoken with me on one occasion and said that [redacted] no longer works there and he doesn't like that he is responsible for the bill. He expressed dissatisfaction with the price of the repairs (he said his shop could repair at much less), to which I replied that [redacted] did not offer that, otherwise I would have been happy to send it back.
I have given Andrew plenty of time to resolve the [redacted]er, and at this point I will file a claim in San Diego Superior Court if payment to [redacted] is not made in full. Please advise.Desired Settlement: I would like Adams Avenue Bicycles to follow through with paying (in full) for the repairs made to my bike, as agreed to by their former manager/agent, [redacted].
