Adams Concrete Company Reviews (4)

They did a terrible job & gave me the run around about fixing it. It's noticeably not level. In addition, the concrete does not go down to the grass Gave me a quote. Scheduled a date to complete the job. Monday, sent 2 guys to form the area. 1st noticed that they didn't pull up the grass. I said something about it and was dismissed. Tuesday, pour day. [redacted] (owner) was among the guys that were to complete the job. I again mentioned the grass. He had them kind of remove the grass & fill the formed area with dirt. I unfortunately had to leave. When I returned, I immediately noticed that the patio was VERY uneven. I got my level & the bubble couldn't fly the right fast enough. I continued to look & noticed that the boards didn't go to the grass line. only 3 1/2". Which left an exposed area under the concrete for dirt to erode. Within minutes [redacted] arrives to collect the remaining balance. I brought my concerns to his attention. He began to talk in circles & make it sound as if it was my fault that there was "miss communications" on the fact the the concrete didn't come to the grass line & that it was too difficult to make the concrete level. He added that you don't want it to be level so the water drains. That I understand, but to be off by 4". It should be off by centimeters. Continued to talk down to me. He then somehow talked me into what he called "backfilling" around the concrete & laying sod. I wasn't completely sold on the idea & assumed i'd be home. I had to leave for a few hours. When I returned, there was loads of dirt all around the concrete. If I was home I would have stopped it. Wednesday, called with my concern. No answer, no returned call. This patterned continued Thursday, Friday, Saturday. By Monday I had a friend call from his phone. He answered. Again, talked in circles. He came out & spoke with us & seemed a little concerned. He came up with a "plan" to pour on top of the existing concrete with an additional cost. This plan did not sit well with me. He said they'd be back within a few days. After 2 days & called to get & better idea of when I could expect him. No answer, no return. Again had my friend call, he answered & said they'd be out on Wednesday. Tuesday, I called to see what time I should expect him. No answer. Friend calls, he answered. were told between 11-12. Arranged to be home & had a male friend present. 12 comes, I call. He doesn't answer. My friend calls from his phone & gets an answer. [redacted] again seems flaky & said they'd be here within 45 min. 10 min later I get a call from his phone but a different person was on the other line. [redacted]. He claimed to be the supervisor. He assures me that he will be coming within 30 min to talk about the issues. A hour later, he arrives. He agreed that it looked awful. He actually said " this is worst I've seen" He kept saying whatever we can do to make you happy. Do you want your money back? Or we can remove it and repour it? He said "I would like to opportunity to make things right". I wanted it to be right too. He said he would talk to [redacted] & his wife [redacted] about what needed to be done and assured me that he would come back the next day with a contract of the plan.He gave this information to me in writing.Thursday comes, no show, but he did call saying he would come the next day.I did not hear from him Again. I sent him a text on Saturday & called. No response.I made my final call on Monday to [redacted]'s phone from a friends phone & ** answered. I made myself very clear that I wanted my money back & that I was very upset & disappointed on how [redacted] and himself have handled this situation. He told me that on Friday [redacted] & [redacted] told him that they were going to be coming over & talk to me. Which did not happen. He then started with a list of excuses. I have been more then patient waiting for this to get fixed.I gave them 1 last chance to contact me with the final decision on how to get me my money back.I explained that if I didn't not hear for someone by that night that I would pursue negative feedback online, make a formal complaint with the Revdex.com and file a lawsuit with small claims court.I Did not hear backDesired SettlementI would like a full refund of $890.

Has failed to fix issues in the concrete due to neglectful installation practices. They guaranteed and promised. Lack of contact.Skeptical on the practice of the installation of the concrete work. Skeptical when they said they were pouring over the grass using the gravel from my own driveway to attempt to level a base for pouring instead of digging up the grass. Claimed only way was to dig with a bobcat which would tear up the lawn. No Sod cutters. They did not have a sod cutter and was told my yard would be tore up, so I passed on the grass removal. Was assured all would be fine. Now I have to pay extra money for backfill and sod because one side is 7 inches off the ground which is a liability. Used 3000 psi concrete for a 3 car drive. No rebar. Said there was fiber in concrete. Waiting for them to fix some crooked areas he promised to fix. Areas are crooked around corners and sides and can see form marks. Was promised he would fix it. Cigarette butts in concrete itself, was told he would fix it. Nails left all over the lawn and driveway from removing the forms. Picked out 30 from the lawn and one out of my tire. Had to have it fixed at the shop. He said he will pay for it. So far we have not heard from him. The number is disconnected. He has 3 different addresses for the business. Will not fix issues as promised. Have called him several times and got the run around or complete no shows.Desired SettlementRepairs need to be made as promised and responsibility taken.

Contractor did not properly prepare the site for pouring concrete, after concrete was poured they didn't cut expansion joints to prevent cracking. They were supposed to coat and seal the driveway for $1200 but only mixed mortar with water and brushed it on, never sealed it as promised. They never came back when called to finish contract.Product_Or_Service: Widening of driveway, resurfacing and sealed /////Desired SettlementWould like expansion joints cut and driveway finished and sealed as promised./////

Company installed a sloppy driveway using substandard cement, using substandard work, and then failed to keep any promised made to correct the sloppy The only real positive thing I can say about the driveway expansion Adams Concrete performed is that I now have a bigger driveway. However, the concrete workmanship was sloppy, they failed to deliver on any of their promises, and I'm not very confident my driveway was last more than a few years.1. Took them several weeks from the time we gave our deposit to the time they started. Zero communication from them as week after week went by, we constantly had to call them, only to be told the rain has delayed their schedule.2. Driveway isn't level, I don't mean it's slightly not level so rain can run off, I mean REALLY not level.3. They cut the lines in the concreate by hand using a trough instead of waiting for it to dry and using a saw. Now nearly all the lines are crooked and of uneven depth.4. Promised to relocate my bush that was in the path of the driveway extension, instead dug and hacked it up and left it sitting against the side of my house.5. Then promised to replace the bush, never did.6. They promised to relocate the sod they removed, they didn't. When I pointed this out, they claimed the grass wasn't any good anyways, but that he would replace it with new sod, he never did.7. Promised to fix the crooked lines, never did.8. Used too much water when "finishing" the driveway, this resulted in portions of my driveway being nearly white and with an almost shine like finish.9. There's boot prints in the concrete, brought this to his attention, like everything else, he promised to return and fix, but never came back.10. His workers left cigarette butts on my lawn, nearly 20 of them.11. His workers cleaned off their tools on my lawn, I ended up with large puddles of hardened concrete in my grass, I had to break these up with a sledge hammer to remove, because.... you guessed it, he promised to fix, but never returned.12. They used cheap cement. You want concrete that supports 4000psi, this is what they call a 6 bag mix. 6 bags of cement for every cubic yard of concrete. These guys used concrete that was rated at 3000psi, 25% less strong that recommended. The concrete they poured looked more like a mix of driveway gravel than any cement I've ever seen. 13. He claimed the cement that the concrete supplier brought had calcium added to it which made it dry faster, in order to get it "finished" before it dried he added A LOT of water, this results in my driveway having a very very rough and dusty finish. All that extra water also weakens the cement. When this happens it usually means your driveway will start to fall apart prematurely.14. They didn't lay any kind of base down before they poured the driveway, another shortcut that will probably mean premature cracking. No subgrade, subbase, or base at all. Where I live, it's all sandy soil, that base was necessary to evenly support the driveway.15. They also did not "cure" or seal the concrete. This is all the more important because he used cheap cement and then added more water on top of that weak cement. The real kicker is that he did mine and my neighbor's driveway expansion at the same time, and their driveways looks EVEN WORSE than ours. I wish I had done my homework first, if I knew then what I know now, I would have stopped and complained every single step of the way as he cuts corners.Desired SettlementFinish the driveway, replace my bush, repair the driveways finish, provide a warranty in writing.
