Adams Heating and Air Conditioning Corporation Reviews (2)

Revdex.com spoke with Bobby from the businessThey will be in contact with the customer this week to set up an appointment to address the customer's concernsSome of the items addressed are beyond the scope of the original work but they will work with the customer to make sure the job is resolved

Review: Adam's replaced an air conditioning compressor and drier for an unit they originally installed. These parts were under warranty, since the unit in question is less than five years old. While we are very happy with the quality of the work performed, we do question their invoice #[redacted] (dated 5/31/13) and their office’s later verbal explanations for it. The invoice lists a $[redacted] charge, which I later learned after calling their office applies to labor for installing these parts plus the cost of refrigerant. [These charges were never discussed with us prior to the work]. We continue to object to this charge, for the following reasons:

1) We were never told by their onsite service representative who performed the work that there would be a labor charge, but were assured that there would be no cost since this was a warranty call.

2) We did not authorize, either verbally or in writing, any service involving a labor charge. Again, we were operating under the promise made by their staff that there would be no such charge.

3) We would have never authorized a $[redacted] labor charge for what amounted to less than two hours work, plus the cost of 8 pounds of [redacted]. At a minimum, IF we were aware in advance of this charge, we would have shopped around through competitive bidding for the work.Desired Settlement: I respectfully request that they reexamine their invoice #[redacted] in light of the facts above. I have called their office twice, once speaking to a woman who handles their billing and once to the business owner. It is clear from their these conversations that they feel that the charges are warranted and that their field representative/service tech was in error (they in fact said this was common problem with their field staff).

Response:

SORRY FOR THE DELAY FOR RESPONSE I HAVE BEEN OUT OF THE OFFICE. I SPOKE TO [redacted] ABOUT ALL OF HIS CONCERNS ABOUT 30 DAYS AGO. WE WERE SORRY IF THERE WAS MISCOMMUNICTION ABOUT THE WARRANTY CHARGES. I EXPLAINED THE LABOR /FREON/RECLAIM OF FREON/DRIER INSTALL CHARGES. HE THOUGHT THESE CHARGES WERE TO MUCH AND IF HE HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO GET OTHER ESTIMATES HE MAY NOT HAVE GOTTEN US TO DO THE JOB. SO HE WAS GOING TO CALL AND GET ESTIMATES FOR WARRNATY COMRESSOR CHANGE AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME SO WE COULD DISCUSS IT. I FEEL OUR WARRENTY CHARGE IS IN LINE WITH OTHER COMPANIES. WE ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH [redacted] ABOUT THIS ISSUE ANY WAY WE CAN. THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPAIRED IN A TIMELY MANOR AND TO MANUFACTORS SPEC.
