This complaint was filed before I had an opportunity to comply with the [redacted]'s initial request. We have responded multiple times to assure him we will and are doing everything we can to get his paperwork summited to Medicare. But as it [redacted]ds now, it is [redacted]'s responsibility to make...

an appointment with his MD for an evaluation for eligibility for the Lift Chair. There is a form “certificate of medical necessity” CMN the MD has to fill out prior to completing the billing process, and the doctor has stated he will not complete it without first examining the customer. Additionally, the customer has asked us to send the same form to his MD for his wife. We initially contacted her doctor with the same results, he must see her prior to filling the form out.
 
(Also as a note, theMedicare billing guidlines that I must abide by states, as a dealer, I have 1 year to bill for items, regardless of the pressure from a customer.)

C) On July 23, 2014, I purchased a lift chair from [redacted].[redacted] stated that her price was higher than other local suppliers because Adapt2it processes the medical reimbursement forms for the customer.
A) Our prices are competitive with or lower than local suppliers and we do not charge for medical billing this is complementary for our customer’s. [redacted] came in to purchase a lift chair after researching prices online, [redacted] felt sorry for [redacted] and gave the chair he wanted for lower than what he could get it for online.
C) [redacted] then called my doctor and told me that she had his approval and would submit the medical form that day.
A) [redacted] did call [redacted]’s MD for preliminary approval, a prescription, this is the first part of the billing process.
C)  I called [redacted] and she said that it takes time for the government to process the medical reimbursement form
A) Miss communication between our biller and [redacted], when [redacted] asked has it been billed the biller said yes, then when [redacted] followed through she found out it was only sent to the MD not Medicare.
Medicare has a built in system, you must purchase the needed item, in this case a Lift Chair, and then after submitting the required documentation to Medicare, they may reimburse the patient/customer around $250 to $300 for the Lifting portion of the Lift Chair. This program is not and should not be a condition of purchasing a Lift Chair.
(Also as a note: the Medicare billing guidlines states, as a dealer, I have 1 year to bill for items, reguardless of the pressuer from the customer.)

Dear [redacted]I just spoke with [redacted] to renew our membership. He reminded me of our outstanding complaint with [redacted] and I asked him if I could explain what happened, then he said I should tell you.This has been ongoing and we have complied with everything that he has requested the moment he has requested it.However the ball is now in his court .In order to finish the issue, [redacted] needs to see his doctor for an evaluation so the MD can fill out the form for us to bill. He is refusing to go to the doctor and now has stalled the process for us to complete the billing that he has requested of us.So long story short, when he visits the doctor and we receive the form we need to complete the process, we would be more than happy to bill and close this case.If you have questions call me.Thank you[redacted] ,Owner###-###-####

(7/23/14) I bought a second chair on 9/18/2014. I waited a few months for the reimbursement and, when nothing happened, I called [redacted] and she said that it takes time for the government to process the medical reimbursement forms.I called 12/16/14 and she said that the government was still processing the paperwork.I then asked for a copy of the submissions and [redacted] then admitted that she never submitted the paperwork to the government because she forgot to follow through with it. [redacted] then said she would contact the doctors. When I next contacted [redacted], she said that she made contact with the doctors. When I asked her for the people she contacted she said she forgot. To this date 12/18/14, she refuses to tell me the status of the submission or the name of the people she spoke to.Desired Settlement: I want to receive the medical reimbursements for the 2 chairs purchased.(appx $700)Until then: I want an email telling me the status of each submission (I bought 2 chairs)and the name of the person to whom she is speaking. EXAMPLE: Doctor ** completed the form and Adaptit is in contact with xx at Doctor [redacted]s office to ensure the filled out forms are being returned so that Adapt2it can complete the process.or Adapt2it received the completed form from DR ** and is submitting it on (date).

Review: I purchased a motorized recliner on March 18, 2015. We paid the entire cost of the chair up front. Adapt 2 It was given all necessary information to bill medicare for reimbursement for part of the charge. When we called Medicare, we were told that Adapt 2 It MUST bill Medicare because they are the provider; we cannot send in the bill. My wife has repeatedly called Adapt 2 It and has been told that Medicare takes a long time to send payment. However, my wife called Medicare on Sept. 18, 2015, and was told my two different representatives that they have NEVER received a bill from Adapt 2 It. Again she called Adapt 2 It on Sept. 18, 2015, leaving messages both with the store clerk and on the owner's cell phone. We have not received a return call regarding our complaint.Desired Settlement: We would like Adapt 2 It to bill Medicare as they previously stated that they would. This way we can receive our proper reimbursement for the chair which, we were told, would be about $300.00
