My friend and I went to visit the owner and look at his puppies for sale. He told me that I could put a deposit on a puppy for half of the cost ($250) which would hold the puppy I wanted. I gave him the money and decided against getting a puppy a few days later. He told me he would not refund the money. There was no verbal or written explanation that the deposit was nonrefundable. He does not have a website that says anything. He told me via text message that I could still buy a puppy for the remaining $250 so I decided to go ahead a get a dog but he never answered my calls or texts. The texts I sent have "read" receipts on them so I know he saw them but was ignoring me. I eventually got another dog from somewhere else.
I have only two payment : cash or check in full and pay 50% down and 50% when they pickup the puppy. When the customer completes the deal at my business they have to sign a contract 9 pages long. On Dec 2 this customer did not complete or sign the contract but called and asked if she could send the half payment by pay pal and she promised to pay the other half on the 15th of December. I told her to send the half payment and I would take the puppy off the market and mark the puppy sold. She called a few days later wanting the payment back she was told it was not refundable, but she could complete the deal as agreed. She did not pay the other half by the 15th. She texted me on Dec 21 saying she might want to complete the deal. I did not respond for she had never keep her word, and I feared for the safety of any puppy.
