After receiving their event brochure or newspaper since December 2013 I decided to e-mail the company to ask for "removal of my name and address." Today is the "last straw." If I telephoned then it might happen again.Desired SettlementDemand all companies/vendors who have web-sites and who USPS/mail out 3rd class paper mailings to "resident, occupant or resident(s) surname(s)," to have a LINK to un-subscribe and another LINK to receive e-mail news or events. In this particular instance this vendor/company JCC of Silicon Valley. Business Response We apologize for sending unwanted mail. We maintain a "Do Not Mail" list of addresses that don't want to receive our mailings, but somehow our marketing department did not receive Ms. [redacted]'s request. We have now added her to our "Do Not Mail" list, so she should not receive any more mailings from us. One caveat: Our mailings are not sent to any particular address we just give the post office a stack of postcards without any addresses on them, and ask them to deliver the postcards to a particular zip code. This is called a "saturation mailing," where the mailed piece doesn't have an address on it, the post office just delivers one to every house. While we do give the post office our "Do Not Mail" list with a request not to deliver the postcard to the addresses on that list, we depend on the post office to remember not to deliver to those addresses.
