Charged exorbitant amount for totally unnecessary work that didn't fix simple problem, techs appear highly trained in routine sales pitch.
On 4/25/18 I called Burbank Plumbers and Reliance arrived to address a problem with a toilet flushing. I ended up paying $*** to replace the front cleanouts. The problem still persisted. I called again on 5/18/18, technician said I will need to spend an additional $*** to repipe under driveway. the next day, I called another plumber noted the symptoms, and as I thought, it was a simple issue the vent on the roof needed to be flushed. This totally addressed the problem I had with the flushing issue for which your company charged me $*** for. I am requesting a substantial refund at least half of my money for something I didn't need nor addressed my problem. I am requesting before filing small claims. I do believe, RHS should be paid for some of their work although it was totally unnecessary and did not address problem. Dear Ms *** regarding your complaint in reference to invoice # XXXXXXX we were called out by you for a main line sewer clog we gave you an estimate to install in ground cleanouts to properly clean your sewer line obstruction. this work was performed and a city inspection was also performed with city approval,
permit # ***. regarding the issue of cleaning the drain from the roof top vent we don't do that because of the dangers of that process. and that's not how a sewer line is cleaned for many reasons.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I called Burbank Plumbers for a "toilet flushing issue" "not a sewer issue", Reliance Home Services arrived, they told me it was a sewer issue then charged me $***. I DIDN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. Reliance did. Problem wasn't resolved after handing over $***, I called Reliance back, tech didn't even look at toilet. He said I will need to spend an additional $*** for sewer line. My husband said that wasn't . We called another plumber, he diagnosed the problem correctly and cleaned out the vent on the roof to that toilet. Again, I am requesting at least half of my money back for an issue that was not addressed nor needed to address my problem. The flushing problem was never resolved by Reliance.

I go on a roof all the time. Be wary of going into a 2" vent into the main line. Catch into a big root ball and you'll rethink the pulling toilet.
I too go on roofs all the time thanks to the k-60
if all I have is a 2'' vent, then I might as well do it from a kitchen or laundry c/o. if the stoppage is in a 3''or 4'' main, you really want to access a 3''or larger vent or c/o or toilet.
most older installations around here were 4'' stacks/ vents through the roof. the newer is typically only 2''. also if plastic, they might use vent 90's that will not allow a real snake through.
size up the job and make an educated decision.

enclosed is a post from a plumbing thread for the company that makes sewer line snakes , as you can read a vent is possible for a kitchen drain or sink drain but when its a main line clog pulling a toilet or a clean out is the how the line should be cleaned properly and safely .

Dear ***, the bottom line is: I called Burbank Plumbers for a flushing issue, Reliance arrived, told me it was the front cleanout. This did not resolve the toilet flushing issue after paying $***, ALSO WORTHY TO NOTE, ALL DRAINS WORKED FINE IN ENTIRE HOUSE except for that one toilet flushing issue. I called to let Reliance know the problem still persisted. Reliance sent out another tech who told me I need to spend an additional $*** to repipe sewer line. I called another plumber who correctly diagnosed issue, it was a clog in the vent "period" he cleaned it out and fixed the problem... period. Again, I am requesting at least half of my money back for unnecessary work done. I should request all of it back, but granted, work was done although it was not needed whatsoever, that was my savings not money I could afford to throw away. Thank you
