Review: [redacted] prepared my 2012 tax return, unfortunately for me he did so incorrectly and I was notified by the IRS 2 years later in 2014. Upon receiving notice I contacted his office and explained the issues to his staff. They were rude and combative towards me, using foul language on the phone and shouted at me. I contacted the [redacted] and he told me to come in so we could resolve this issue in person. I agreed and stopped by his office after work. We started discussing the issue of my incorrectly filed tax return, a return in which he prepared. I explained to him the issue and wanted to come to an agreement seeing as he is, or at least seemed to be a professional. As we discussed the issue, [redacted] became extremely angry and started shouting expletives at me and slamming his fists on his desk. I managed to stay calm as this went on for a period of 5 mins, where he continued cursing and swearing calling me child, and denying any wrong doing on his behalf. I eventually ended up standing up and walking out, obviously very upset. I'm writing this complaint mostly because I feel wronged by him and his staff. They incorrectly prepared my tax return, and then denied that fact and told me I got money I didn't deserve. I received money from a return that him and his staff prepared, I considered him a professional seeing as his title is CPA. The way he acted and his staff acted was absolutely unprofessional, rude and combative. I trusted him with my private information and paid him, only for him to deny responsibility. I'm hoping this will prevent others from suffering the stresses I endured, and keep someone out of trouble with the IRS.Desired Settlement: I feel that professionals should stand behind their work, if I go to a mechanic and get my car fixed, and that mechanic breaks my car further, it's their duty to pay the costs of the damages. I see that as a parallel to this scenario. I now owe the IRS almost $1800 because of an error he made, that to me is unacceptable and the way I was treated afterwards was downright disgusting. I feel wronged and basically scammed, professionals stand by their work, [redacted] does not. I would expect [redacted] to cover my damages of $1800 seeing as he perpetrated the error.
