Adelphi Pool

Review: I joined this swimming pool in the mid 1990s and paid a membership share fee of $300. At the time, I was informed that this fee would be returned upon resignation of my membership. I resigned on 10/8/1998. At that time I was told that my share would be purchased back by the corporation in the order in which they were received and that there was a backlog of 180 resignations and that the approximate waiting time was 5 years. I was told that my share was 180 on the list. I waited. On 08/20/2003, I received a letter explaining that because of unforeseen catastrophic events, the pool had not kept pace with the number of resignations they had on their list. I was told that I was #[redacted] on the list. I was also told that they had previously reimbursed about 20 members a year. I waited. I wrote to the pool leadership on June 2, 2013 about my position on the resignation list. I did not receive any reply to my letter. I then wrote an email to the chairperson of the membership committee, the treasurer and the president. Again, no reply. Finally I received an email from the membership committee chairperson saying they were working on this problem. It did not get resolved except that she said I could sell the membership share myself and that there wouldn't be any problem. However, when I inquired about doing that this season (summer, 2014), the treasurer denied all knowledge of my name or membership number in their membership records. I wrote again sending along copies of all the correspondence up to 06/17/2014. I received an email on 06/20/14 telling me that I would receive a response to the problem within the next week to 10 days. As of today's date (07/09/14), I still have not received a reply.Desired Settlement: I want my membership share price of $300 returned.
