I took our Subaru Forrester to Adelphi Shell, University Blvd E, Adelphi, MD 20783, for its 1st oil change (@ miles) on Friday Feb 12th, [inadvertently, having made an appointment with Direct Auto Services @ University Blvd E, Adelphi, MD for PM that afternoon, but the buildings are visually very similar] The gentleman on duty performed the oil change, using the oil & filter I supplied, in a reasonable time given that he was also having to accept payments for gasoline & snack purchasesThen he called me into the shop and asserted that the rear brake pads were severely worn & needed to be replaced and that there was a small leak from the transmission & that that gasket should be replacedGiven that we had bought the car from Carmax in December with miles already on it, & that it had passed a MD state inspection days later (the rear brakes were noted as passing), I was very dubious of both assertions, but I wrote them down As I drove away, I noticed that he - without asking permission or telling me he was doing it - had reprogrammed our MultiFunction DisplayToday (2/16) I took the car to the nearest Subaru dealer, who inspected it and reported that the rear brake pads were just fine & there was no leak at all from the transmission gasket, & reset the MultiFunction Display back to our preferred settings

A[redacted]Adephi Shell

I took our 2015 Subaru Forrester to Adelphi Shell, 2344 University Blvd E, Adelphi, MD 20783, for its 1st oil change (@ 6000 miles) on Friday Feb 12th, 2016 [inadvertently, having made an appointment with Direct Auto Services @ 2204 University Blvd E, Adelphi, MD 20783 for 1 PM that afternoon, but the 2 buildings are visually very similar]. The gentleman on duty performed the oil change, using the oil & filter I supplied, in a reasonable time given that he was also having to accept payments for gasoline & snack purchases. Then he called me into the shop and asserted that the rear brake pads were severely worn & needed to be replaced and that there was a small leak from the transmission & that that gasket should be replaced. Given that we had bought the car from Carmax in December with 4565 miles already on it, & that it had passed a MD state inspection 2 days later (the rear brakes were noted as passing), I was very dubious of both assertions, but I wrote them down. As I drove away, I noticed that he - without asking permission or telling me he was doing it - had reprogrammed our MultiFunction Display.
Today (2/16) I took the car to the nearest Subaru dealer, who inspected it and reported that the rear brake pads were just fine & there was no leak at all from the transmission gasket, & reset the MultiFunction Display back to our preferred settings.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Although
the Adelphi Shell states they did not receive payment for parts and labor, they
in fact did receive payment. They have received over $600 in payments from me
and never fixed any of the problems that they said they did. Instead they
created a much larger problem that has cost me thousands of dollars. Please see below the summarized account of my experience with Adelphi Shell:
Timeline
of events:
·
1/7/2015- Failed inspection in DC—Fuel
Sensor Circuit Problem
·
1/8/2015- Called Adelphi Shell to ask
if they can fix a fuel sensor or if I need to take to dealership. Mechanic told
me they would be able to fix it fine. I took car there that day to discuss
this. Mechanic told me to order a used fuel sensor it would be $310. I asked
them to also fix a belt and they ordered that for $143.
o
Paid Adelphi Shell $453 on 1/8
