This is in response to complaint #[redacted].  The customer came to us with 2 knit maternity skirts that she wanted hemmed.  They were fitted for her, and...

she was given a dated receipt that was for a week and a half later which was the time frame based on our availability.

The skirts were prepared, one being hemmed with a finished hem and the other just being shortened as the original skirt was an unfinished hem(with no stitching).  We showed her this with the leftover fabric and explained that we were only
charging her $10.00 for this skirt and the finished skirt was $25.00.
A week later, on Saturday, she called the store to let us know she was unhappy with our service and wanted her $35.00 refunded.  She asked to bring skirts back so we could see the problem.  She did not want to bring them back,
that she was going to have to take them somewhere else.
She showed no interest in trying on the skirts when she picked them up.  Once garments leave our store, we don't know how they are handled or hung or if people are wearing the same shoes or garments as when fitted.  We cannot just take someone's word without seeing the problem.  If they were in fact still too long, this is something we can fix at no further expense to the customer, which is our policy.
She did come back to the store, but would not try the skirts on.  It was explained that the tailor would take any new measurements for the hems and prepare them immediately, as she explained she was leaving town for 3 weeks.
She would not agree.
She also complained about the tailor yelling at her and she was concerned about her safety.  This was her opinion,
not a fact, there was never any chance of danger, and she grabbed the skirt out of anger and left the store.
The tailor then closed the shop, as we are only opened on Saturdays until 2:00pm which is clearly posted on our sign.
We will not refund the $35.00, but we are more than willing to fix the hemming to her liking.  Thank you for the opportunity to reply.
                                        ... Sincerely,
                                        ... Adel's Tailor Shop

Review: I went to get my 2 long skirts hemmed and I tried them on an they pinned them for hemming when I dropped the 2 skirts off. They told me it would take 1 1/2 weeks to have them done. I went to pick them up and when I was ready to wear them this past weekend, I realized they were not hemmed enough and they were dragging on the floor. The woman at Adel's pinned them for me when I dropped them off. I called Adel's tailoring when I realized they were both too long and I explained I was not happy and I wanted to be reimbursed because I was going to have to take them somewhere else to get done and pay again. The owner answered the phone and told me he needed to see the skirts. I went to his store to show him the skirts and he had a very aggressive attitude and told me he did what I asked. I asked for the skirts to be hemmed and not dragging on the floor. He preceded to tell and tell me to come back in 30 minutes and for me to tell him what I want done in a very aggressive yelling tone. I told him I would have to try them on and I was not coming back. He grabbed one of my skirts and held onto to it and would not give it back. I felt extremely uncomfortable and needed to leave, but he still was refusing to give me my skirt back. I have already paid him $35 to hem the skirts the previous week. I had to grab the skirt off of him and I walked out the door and left. I wanted reimbursed, but my safety was first at this point and I had to get out of there. As soon as I left he closed the blinds and closed down his store.Desired Settlement: I would like my $35.00 back.
