I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
I haven't received any payment toward the attempted refund amount of $800.00. It is clear that the fees outlined in the report from the Adept Bail Bonds are accurate and valid. I reject the business offer simply because I have not received any money refunded. What I received was a check which is nothing more than a piece of paper that allows you to negotiate with bank about funds. During this process I was unable to cash the check. The bank could not give me any information as to why because of bank confidentiality act. Please note that the company Adept Bail Bonds bank account is with [redacted] and that is where I attempted to cash my check. Also the check was not received until Jan. 8, 2014 with a postage processing date of Jan. 7,2014. This matter has has not been resolved until I receive my refund that is due to me.

Dear
Sir,
During our conversation in December, I informed you of the process for the
return. We discussed the responsibility of the indemnitor as well as the
fact that the defendant was not following the conditions of release. During
/>
that conversation, I also informed you that I employed a bounty hunter to
apprehend the defendant due to his repeated violations of the condition of
release. Although it's correct that you paid $800 of the $1,800, you offered
$600 initially and made arrangement to pay the remaining $200 within two
weeks. As you're aware, the defendant's mother promised to pay $1,180 for
the premium and the balance for the collateral. Unfortunately she did not
follow through.
I offer the above details to illustrate that my company was more than reasonable
in accommodating your family. In fact Adept Bail Bonds made no profit on
this bond and was not compensated at all for the services of bonding out the
defendant. Specifically, you gave $800, $300 was paid for bounty fees,
there was $150 admin fee, and I returned to you $350. Therefore, the standard
bail fee of ten percent ($180) for performing the bond service was not
collected.
I understand that the bail bond process is not easy to understand, and I
apologize for any confusion in my explaining the process to you. Although
I understand that you may have felt that the time to receive your return was
somewhat longer then expected, the contract states that the refund would take a minimum
of ten days and that it should be to you within two to three weeks. Nevertheless,
after review of the file, it's clear that the defendant was rearrested on 11-7-2013;
the processing began on 11-11-2013 (due to the weekend) therefore the estimated
date for your refund should have been 12-11-2013 or sooner. After
reviewing the time frame, I agree that Adept Bail Bonds did not process the
return as agreed per the contract and would like to offer you $25.
Considering the circumstances, I feel that this is a reasonable offer and hope
that you will accept it. I will mail the $25 check to you within the next day.
Best
regards,
