My Vehicle was towed to this salvage yard due a flood damage.when I went to my car some of my personal items were missing from the vehicle.On Saturday 7/16/16 my vehicle was flooded while at [redacted] mall. I immediately filed a claim with my insurance company and was told to leave my windows cracked to prevent mildew and leave the key hidden in the sunglass compartment of the vehicle also my vehicle will be towed the following day. on Sunday 7/17/16 I called my insurance company and was told that due to the salvage yard being closed on the weekend my vehicle will not be towed until Monday 7/18/16 I was given the address and number of the salvage yard by my insurance company. I then contacted [redacted] and [redacted] security(my vehicle was parked on the sidewalk)to make them aware of my situation and I was told that they understand and I would have 72 hours to have my vehicle towed. On Monday 7/18/16 I contacted the salvage yard at [redacted] and was told by their customer service agent that my vehicle will be towed Tuesday 7/19/16. Mid morning Tuesday 7/19/16 I called the salvage yard again and spoke with [redacted] and confirmed that my vehicle had been towed and was on their lot. I was told that now I had to wait for the adjuster to contact me to tell me the status of my vehicle. on 7/25/16 I was contacted by State-farm insurance informing me that my vehicle was totaled, at this time I asked about the personal items in my vehicle which was my old cell phone, a sound bar and a few papers and books. I was told that I needed to file a separate claim with my renter insurance for any damaged items. My renter insurance which is also state-farm informed me that I needed to check to see if the items were damaged before filing a claim. I made arrangements with [redacted] to come on Friday 7/29/16 to get my personal items out of the vehicle.When I initially gained access to my vehicle it was already cleaned out. I was told by [redacted](branch manager) that they clean the vehicles out and place all the items in the trunk. One of his associates helped my to gain access to my trunk where my stuff was placed in trash bags. While looking through the bags I found my empty phone case with no phone. the associate helped me look through all the bags and items in the trunk for the phone which was never found. She then called her supervisor who told me that my vehicle went to another yard before coming there which I know was not true because I confirmed the week prior that it was there the entire time. I then asked to speak with the manager [redacted] who then told me that they do not clean the vehicles, a contracted vendor comes out and clean the vehicles. when I asked for the vendors information he refused to give it. He then stated he will conduct his own investigation and give me a call on Monday. on Monday 8/1/16 at 1:54pm [redacted] called from his cell (270)366-2899 leaving a message on my voicemail stating to call his cell because the company phones were down all morning.I returned his call on 8/1/16 2:14pm calling the company phone instead of his cell phone, apparently the phones were working fine all of a sudden. He then informed me that he is not responsible for my personal items because his tow truck driver states the windows were open and the door unlocked.I made sure that my door was locked prior to leaving my vehicle and the window was only cracked to allow air flow. He refuse to give any information on the truck driver and stated he did not know who cleaned my vehicle. He also refuse to give any evidence showing that the vehicle was unlocked on their arrival.Desired SettlementI would like [redacted] to either replace my missing cell phone or to give me the amount I paid for my cell phone. I had planed on giving that cell phone to my younger sister.
