Review: My vehicle was repossessed on 8/9/2013 at about 11pm due to being behind on payment with UW Credit Union. I had contacted UW Credit Union the day after and they would not give me the address or location of the company who took the car. I was given until the 30th of August 2013 to pay to get the vehicle back but did not have enough money to do so. My car was auctioned and when I had contacted UW Credit Union about my personal items they finally gave me the phone number to contact ADESA. I called ADESA and asked about my personal belongings in the car on September 11th, 2013. It has only been 8 regular business days since the 30th of August. My car was auctioned on the 9th as I was able to pull a Carfax report. ADESA had claimed that they threw away my personal items already. There were electronic items in the car worth over $400. The woman I spoke with stated if they find any electronics they usually will contact the bank about the items found. ADESA told me they did not find any electronics in the car when it was cleaned out. I know there was a JVC Camcorder, TomTom One GPS, a cell phone, and other electronic items. I feel like this business needs to find out what happened to my stuff. It could have been taken by whoever cleaned the car out. They can't tell me there wasn't any electronics when I clearly know what I have in my middle compartment. If they can no longer find these items, they need to reimburse for all the items that are missing.Desired Settlement: Return of items if possible or reimbursement of missing items.

Response:

This is a customer of one of our Customers. Any items in the vehicles should have been taken at the time of the repo to left to the repo agent. Any items would have been called into our client or disposted of once it was set for sale. We do not store repo items that is where a repo lot is involved. We store the vehicles as they are until we are contacted by our Clients when they set them for sale.

We have the same policy in affect for all Fleet customers.

Not our issue. Besides we do not have any of these items being present at the time of the Condition Report.
