[redacted] made an appointment for a Bleach and Tone ($66.50+$10. For extra Color that we need=$76.50) on 2/25/15 she came in and went through a detailed consultation with her stylist [redacted]. After consulting they determined that the bleach and tone would be the best option for what she wanted. (A bleach and tone is when you Bleach 100% of the hair roots to end then add tone as needed for the desired shade of blonde. This is one of the very hardest services on your hair. If you are at all concerned about the health of your hair you would never do this unless you wanted to be very blonde and if you didn't have any other option to get you that blonde and you didn't care what you need to do to get it. This technique leaves the hair damaged and without variation to the color (one level,one tone)). It could even burn the scalp on someone sensitive. She was happy when she left, tipped [redacted] $30.00 bought some hair spray and a salon membership. generally if someone is not happy with their service they wouldn't buy a membership (this is a points and reward system for frequent guests).
She did call back to have some adjustments made (enclosed you will see a copy of the redo form [redacted] and the Stylist [redacted] filled out). We made the adjustment free of charge on 3/2/15. Consulting with [redacted] it was decided to add low lights into the blonde at level 5 which is a brunette color. Next to a bleach and tone this can look quite drastic. Without calling us [redacted] took matters into her own hands and did a home remedy to strip out the color at home, so when she came in for me ([redacted]) to see it it was a light copper over the whole head (truly looking like the whole head had been colored one color then stripped out, very little variation to the color. Not consistent with the bleach and tone with the low lights.) She stripped the color out on her own and no telling what it did to the condition of her hair that had already taken a hit with the bleach and tone. Stripping out color is very hard on the hair and needs to be done with great care to preserve the integrity of the hair. Without calling to see if there was any way for us to help her, or let us know that she didn't care for her color. She left a message on our voice mail stating that she had stopped payment on her visa card. I called her as soon as I heard she was unhappy and left a message. I told her that it was not about the money and that I would do anything that I could do to help her get what she wanted. She called me back and agreed to let me look at it and then to work with her to make it right, like our guarantee says we will. Even though she had made self-adjustments that contributed to me needing to be more aggressive with the formulations and to improve the condition of her hair I did what I felt was right in my 32 year professional opinion. We made a plan and she agreed to it. At that visit I gave [redacted] $114.00 in home care products to support our goals.
She came in for 3 Botanical Hair Treatments to recondition her hair (Repairing the hair up to 82% per application) (@$37 X 3=$111.00). Then I proceeded to do the color on 4/8/15. She showed me pictures of a color she had in the past. (Which was a solid high light cool blonde.) We waited till we could see the new growth of her natural color and I felt the condition of her hair was safe for color. I was able to get it very close in a one step process that would cause less damage to the hair. In order to maintain the condition of the hair I pulled the same formula roots to ends to that I wouldn't have to bleach out the few low lights that you can faintly see by this time. We both were so pleased that we didn't have to do more damage and that this would be repeatable for future colors. I even gave her a free hair cut at that time for an extra "feel good" for her! She loved it. "I have my blonde back" is what she said. We talked about how we would need to proceed to maintain the color and she pre-booked her next appointment for May 20th, tipped me $50.00 and went on her way with a huge smile on her face. She even gave me a hug.
In the meantime her dispute (stop payment) had gone through to our bank. We got a letter notifying us with a form to fill out from our bank explaining what had happened. We filled out the firm honestly and as requested by our bank and mailed it back. Once the banks are involved our hands are tied and it is up to the banks if she can or cannot stop payment for the service. On her dispute she had listed the reason for the dispute was a "defective product" not a service. The CC Company wrote her stating that Adevia had reissued the charge. It was our bank we didn't recharge her. We simply filled out the requested paper work. After [redacted] got word that the charges may not be refunded to her I received a call from her, about 3 weeks after her color was finished. She said that she got a letter and that it looked like that the charges may not be reversed. I told her not to worry if they don't; I would do her next color for free an additional $60.00 free.
She made one more attempt to get the charges refunded by following the CC Companies advise and chose to return all the at home products I had given her for free worth $114.00. She asked to be refunded the Membership and to return the $50 tip she left me in appreciation for all the work I did for her. All in all after you add up all the free services and products we gave her. Plus the next color free. [redacted] stopped payment and still got $428.00 free. Plus she loved her hair when she left. Now that her charges may not be refunded, she is saying otherwise.
I think if you look at our side of this story you will see that we did uphold our guarantee and went way farther then we needed to to make sure that we did everything in our power to help [redacted] out.

Because after all the chemical treatments and hair damage I returned all the products and did not want any further torture of pain and burning to my scalp or damage to my hair. It was my choice to go to another salon and one 10 minute treatment for 70 dollars my blonde was acheiebed. Now I will wait approximately 2 years for my hair to be fully restored.
In the salon the color is different then the color outside which was ORANGE not blonde!
I cooperated and went through all their plans and ended up way worse off then the first screw up .went on to screw up 2 then 3 then they have the audacity to expect me to come back? No way. My hair has fallen OUT and thinned out so bad from 3 treatments in a short time. They being professionals shpuld of known better. Very unprofessional!!!
