Adina Home Care Reviews (4)

Adina Home Care is responding to complaint As you can see on the attached document *** *** was diagnosed with a UTI on 11/14/at Sutter HealthShe was also prescribed antibiotics to treat her UTI, which her family ( *** ***) did not mention or bring to the facilityIt is unfortunate that blame is placed on Adina Home Care, when Adina Home Care did nothing but care for *** *** and desired for her to be treated for her UTI.Best regards,Adina Home Care

I am responding in regards to the complaint against Adina Home Care submitted by [redacted]. Adina Home Care followed standard protocol in requesting to take [redacted] to the emergency room. There she was diagnosed with a UTI, but was released the same day without treatment. The second admission...

to the emergency room was due to chronic diarrhea and vomiting, which caused a concern to the other residents, once again [redacted] was discharged without treatment. Adina Home Care agreed to keep [redacted] even after the second discharge from the hospital without treatment, but the family decided to move her. The $630 were paid in full to the family. [redacted]'s condition worsened over time, however [redacted] and [redacted] made every effort to keep her comfortable and always well fed. It is an insult to assume that her condition is due to the lack of care by Adina Home Care. We treat all our residents with dignity and respect, and consider them family, to have this complaint is not only disappointing but just disheartening. Adina Home Care wishes [redacted] and his family nothing but the best and would like to leave things on amiable terms.Best regards,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:   On November 14, 2016 [redacted] was ambulanced from ADINA HOME CARE to Mercy Hospital Folsom but shortly thereafter she was ambulanced from Mercy to Sutter Medical Center downtown because her insurance wasn't accepted at Mercy Hospital. My wife and I live in Amador County so we were unable to get to Mercy Hospital in time and do not know what transpired with [redacted] there.  We did visit [redacted] at Sutter downtown and on November 22 ,2016 at Sutter Roseville.  I have already relayed what the doctors and nurses told us about [redacted].  The only prescription written for [redacted] was for nausea but she never needed it nor took any.  All of the above is moot. It's irrelevent!  Our only complaint against ADINA HOME CARE has always been that [redacted] and [redacted] gave us absolutely no prior notice or preparation time when they decided to terminate care for [redacted]. Instead they refused the ambulance return trip from Sutter Roseville.  This is a fact [redacted] has ignored and failed to address. The Emergency Room Case Worker [redacted], "A Place For Mom," Sacramento Ombudsman and Community Care Licensing all agree that the way ADINA HOME CARE terminated care of [redacted] was just plain wrong! My wife, [redacted] and I will be forever grateful and thankful to [redacted] and [redacted] for their loving care of [redacted] for over six years. We have asked all agencies involved not take any punitive actions toward ADINA HOME CARE.  We would still highly recommend them if they would give future senior resident families ample preparation time before terminating care.  [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:                        WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO LEAVE ON AMICABLE TERMS[redacted] was not present on November 14th nor November 22nd, 2016 when the incidents occurred.  As a matter of fact, she runs ADINA HOME CARE from Los Angeles, while working full-time as a pharmaceutical representative.  The ADINA HOME CARE business card has her cell phone number and e-mail address as the first point of contact. Ms. [redacted] response is full of errors.  [redacted] was ambulanced on 12/14/2016 to Sutter Medical Center downtown and was admitted overnight for testing and observation.  We took her back to ADINA HOME CARE on 12/15/2016 after the doctors said she tested negative for urinary tract infection (UTI) and that they could not find anything wrong with her except she needed to eat and drink more.  On 12/25/2016 [redacted] was ambulanced to Sutter Roseville Hospital Emergency Room.  After about six hours of testing and observation, the doctors could not find anything wrong with her except for slight dehydration and a bruised arm from a previous I.V..  So they released her and informed us it would take awhile to coordinate the ambulance back to ADINA HOME CARE.  My wife and I left and were dining at the KFC in Folsom when I received a call from the Emergency Room that ADINA HOME CARE refused to take her back. That's the first time we learned that [redacted] and [redacted] had decided they didn't want to take care of [redacted] any longer. My wife and I feel they had been planning this for awhile.  We went directly to ADINA HOME CARE to pick up [redacted]'s belongings.  [redacted] couldn't stuff [redacted]'s belongings fast enough into large trash bags.  Please refer back to my initial e-mail to Ms. [redacted] regarding Emergency Room Case Worker [redacted] who called while we were there and spoke to all of us on speaker phone.  Her number is [redacted] and welcomes any inquiries.  I am in the process of requesting all pertinent medical records on [redacted] from the hospitals that treated her. My wife and I want nothing more to do with or from ADINA HOME HOME except that the truth be told.  [redacted]
